Whilst we're on the cusp of announcing the best signing in the clubs recent history, lets cast our mind back to 12 months to the day when we were faced with the very likely possibility of our club falling into extinction.
As we all know, Marwan Koukash who has been revelation for our club wishes to purchase the ownership of Swinton Lions but will only do so with the full support of the Council with regards to building them a new stadium within Swinton at the old St Ambrose Barlow site.
Whilst these plans would be huge for Swinton Lions as a club, just think of the wider impact on Rugby League as a whole within the City of Salford.
I would therefore encourage you to sign the petition below as well as forward to others who may be keen to show their support.

Done. I think it would be massive not only for Swinton but also Salford and the whole city to have two teams really competing at their respective levels in the game. The impact it could have on the youth in the area and to help raise the profile of he sport once again and to push participation would be massive.

In all fairness to Sale Sharks, it doesnt say they do not want Swinton to play at Barton. It just states Sale have a clause within their agreement, whether they would enforce this or not is uncertain.

Great gesture by John Kidd. Most Swinton fans were not happy he did it. Hopefully things work out for Swinton and now our owner has saved them, they might be able to put to bed all the years of moaning about Wilky etc. |

Let's just remember Koukash hasn't saved them yet and will only do so if the Council agree to support his idea/vision for the development in Swinton.
