Gavin Bennion and James Saltonstall, both 20, have been included in Tony Smith's 19-man party as the Wolves look to extend their recent good form having won on four of their last five outings.

The inclusion of prop Bennion and centre Saltonstall means there is no room for Gareth O'Brien and Rhys Williams who are both omitted for the visit of the struggling Reds side.

Smith's side have won four of the last five meetings between the two sides but Wolves hooker Micky Higham insists there is no room for complacency.

"It's a different Salford team from when we played them last," he said. "They've improved under Brian (Noble), he's putting the structures in place and I can see that they are improving."

Improved

Meanwhile, Reds head coach Noble has made just one change to his 19-man squad for the trip to the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Hooker Gareth Owen has been included for the journey east meaning prop Darrell Griffin misses out.

A 28-22 victory against Widnes Vikings at the Etihad Stadium during the Magic Weekend lifted the Reds off the foot of the table and Noble is relishing the prospect of moving up the Super League standings.

"It's a thrill to climb off the bottom but that's only a by-product of our hard work," he said. "If we focus on the ladder, we're in big trouble; the challenge is staying off the bottom of the ladder."

The Reds have now won three of their last five matches and victory against the Wolves could see them elevated as high as 10th depending on results elsewhere. Meanwhile, Warrington will aim to keep the pressure on at opposite end of the table as they continue to chase leaders Wigan Warriors.

Wolves: Atkins, Bennion, Briers, Carvell, Cooper, Currie, Grix, Higham, Hill, J. Monaghan, M. Monaghan, Morley, Myler, Ratchford, C. Riley, Saltonstall, Waterhouse, Westwood, Wood.

Reds: Broughton, Gibson, Gleeson, Gaskell, Foran, Ashurst, Dixon, Wild, Godwin, Mauro, James, Neal, Fages, Sneyd, McGoldrick, Owen, Evalds, A. Walne, Emmitt.

I hope we don't miss Griffin too much with Jewitt and Macpherson still not available.
I was impressed with Adam Walne going out of his way to express his gratitude to a more experienced player in the rugby league press this month which appeared to have been replicated in a local paper without any credit to the original story rlHererl
Wonder how Morley plays ? eusa_whistle.gif

[b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag. [b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg

Wonder how Morley plays ?
Morley is 36 this year and is not the player he was. Wouldn't expect too much albeit that he still has the odd good game in him

Thanks for the training session at the HJ this afternoon it gave the mighty Wire to try out some training pitch moves. A no sweat game such as this gave the lads a good footing for the more senior teams. By the way....did you all come in one taxi ?...Seems Dr Nokash could be in big trouble for making statements about a Warrington player....The old saying applies...*Engage brain before opening mouth*

Someday, somewhere, today’s empires are tomorrow’s ashes.:

Anyone care to talk about that debacle? I'll start.

Poor. Very poor. Too slow in attack and too frail in defence. We don't have many aggressive forwards, and the ones we do have are injured at the moment, leaving us vulnerable down the middle. Warrington's forwards were punching holes on a regular basis which gave their halves plenty of room to dominate. In fact, the only forward we were able to handle effectively was Adrian Morley. Of course, I'm told he would be a "brilliant" signing, so I have to assume by "brilliant", we mean "a bit like Ryan Boyle, really".

As for the bottle throwing, why do we have a tiny handful of bell ends who insist on throwing bottles when we're losing? What does it achieve? Credit to Marwan Koukash for getting in the middle of it.

I guess the most positive aspect of a dismal day was that, according to the Dr, we have four signings "over the line" for next season, and are hopeful of another four to six. I hope some of these are hairy d forwards. Not Adrian Morley though. No thanks.

EDIT

In between starting that and finishing it, some lame brain from Warrington took his hands out of the front of his pants long enough to share some unimaginative thoughts with us. I don't suppose we could ignore him could we? Would it be too difficult?

Red John good assessment that. For me Foran was bobbins again today. I hope he's not taking you for a ride regarding wages. His only contribution i saw today was to stand still during a tackle taking place with his arms out like the eagle crest of the Manley Sea Eagles. When will these nailed on signings be confirmed?

Fair summary of today, ignore the lune who posted previously they are obviously as idiotic as the bottle throwers. Not heard Radio Manchester nor near enough to the incident but it is claimed that Koukash has accused Westwood of throwing the bottle at a Salford fan. If Benny did it stupid git if he didn't same should be said for Koukash (if he accused him of it on radio) Good on him though for going into the crowd to calm things as the guy at the front was getting very irate. Did the bottle thrower stay in the ground as I saw one person who the stewards had been allowed back to his place in the stand?

As far as I'm concerned, we've over-achieved so far this year. Most pundits and fans had us down for never winning a game all season, and I must admit, I secretly thought it was a possibility too.

Once the Clubs future was confirmed we all new that this season was to be written-off in preparation for next season. So with that thought in mind I'm not too worried by results like these. Most teams will be battered by Wire at their place all season long so the result shouldn't come as a massive shock.

I listened to the interview and Koukash never mentioned any names. He accused a player but didn't name them.

Foran has played well at dummy half over the past few games, but suffered like the rest of the team today by playing in a dominated pack. You're right about his defence though. Maybe the lack of a pre-season is at fault, because he still looks unfit.

The signings will be announced in September or October. The rumours will be announced immediately. Just wait and see.

I didn't see who threw the bottle, but no Salford fan will be surprised to see who was being restrained.

As for the doctor's comments, I think he said [ihe was told[/i a Warrington player had thrown a bottle. He didn't make the accusation directly. Perhaps a little unwise, but no great harm done. He actually achieved the near impossible today and managed to go up even higher in my estimation by getting amongst the fans when some of them were behaving like they'd missed a feed or something.

The fact that most if not all of us had us down for a tanning on the prediction league speaks volumes.
Today does make me wonder if the team wrote the game off in favour of a good performance a week tomorrow. I do think that Griffin not being available was a hammer blow to any hope of a credible score as he seems to me to be the forwards catalyst.
Was very encouraged to hear the Doc say that 4 of the signings have already done so and that the others aren't that far away, wonder who then seeing as he said that he will announce them at the end of the season the Comic this week makes wild unfounded speculation about next.

If anyone was in any doubt about how genuine he was, about his commitment and about him being a good egg then todays actions for me take the Doc to a new level.
