| I have seen highlights of Salford games against Bradford, Huddersfield and Widnes.
Against Bradford did a nice chip kick which led to a try.
Against Huddersfield he didn't figure in the scoring movements.
Against Widnes scored a try and made a line break which resulted in a try.
My impressions: Passing good. Has an array of skills in attack. But very small stature and has trouble defending against bigger players.
What do Salford fans think of him?

| Got a lot of natural talent. Still very young with loads to learn but heading in the right direction. Been thrown into things, much like all our young players this year, and is adapting pretty well. Longy seems to be rubbing-off well on him. Will be interesting to see how he is utilized and how he adapts when the new coaching set-up rolls into town.
My verdict: Certainly heading in the right direction and with the right people around him, on and off the field, will develop into quite a talent.

| He will be a star player.
He looks more like a scrum half to me.
He's a strong lad but his defence is what you'd expect from a youngster learning the game.
The way he's been deployed defensively has been misguided.
I think he should be at scrum half with an experienced stand off outside him.
I'd try him with Gaskell outside him, when the other centres are fit.
I'm ok with Foran but, when possible, this is the time to try a few things.

| I agree. He's got bags of potential and he looks great offensively. He needs to bulk up a bit if he wants to carry out his defensive duties but all-in-all I think we've got a star in the making, especially when he's surrounded by a higher calibre of player. The same applies to Sneyd in my opinion.

Agree Gaskell & Fages for me at stand off & scrum half but would like to see Foran as a ball playing loose forward. I dont think he needs to increase his weight too much - maybe upper body mind.

Not a bad call that EB. Foran certainly ain't shy with taking the ball in as he probably ran it in more on Sunday than creating anything. At the same time can throw it about a bit if he so desires.
I'd be happy with a starting line up of this:
Snyed
Broughton
Gleeson
Evalds
Williams
Gaskell
Fages
Griffin
Godwin
McPherson
Ashurst
Dixon
Foran

| I just discovered that Fages is only 19, if that! (He may turn 19 later this year). So he has been very courageous in playing at this level, and that fact certainly suggests that he will be something special in a year or two, especially if he puts on a little more weight.
From the little I have seen of him he definitely looks like a scrum half.
But will Mr Koukash and the coach give him time to develop, or will they go looking for an established scrum half? The latter strategy would be a mistake in my opinion given what everyone on this thread thinks of him.

| For me he is a stand-off! He has great balance and good hands, and dynamic. I would love to play him next to a scrum half who lets him express himself. For me Foran is guff, no way is he a scrum half, of any repute anyway, move him to loose or move him out. Vievers signing and doesn’t look the business at all. If we could get theo a decent half back partner that would really help his game flurish

| Theo is signed on for 5 years if I'm not mistaken? So time and contract are on his side whoever comes in.

| Correct Butcher, 19 in August, thought of very highly by Alan Hunte I know for sure. Have heard that Longy also thinks he is a star in the making and has taken him under his wing. Can't agree with another poster who wants Niall at centre, another half back for me, but prefers full back himself. Still great that we are talking about teenagers who are the future of the club. Interesting that in the 17 for the last two games we have had six players that were playing under 20's last season. Sneyd, Edwin, Theo, Owen, Walne and Murphy (at Wigan) and two of these are still only 18, Theo and Edwin.

| Re Jean Capdouze's comments I think its inevitable that a new coaching combination coming in are going to look to sign an established, experienced pair of half backs ASAP, if the stated aim is to be competing for silverware within a season or two that would have to be the case.
BUT as others have said, these lads have time on their side, given the chance to be brought on in the company of other experienced players I see great things ahead for a few of them!!

| Sorry Evalds isn't big enough for a centre.
Though do see some mileage in Foran playing at loose, want to know why we haven't seen Ford given a crack in the centres yet as he looked like the most likely from the under 20's last season.
