| Everyone on direct debit is automatically a member for 2013 anyway unless they cancel their DD. In theory, if things don't change again and we persist with the membership + match pass system, all existing members will need to know is how much a match pass costs and when do they go on sale.

Just looking at that and thinking people on the current scheme will be paying less next year meaning that revenue will be less than this year.
Got to think this will increase the burden on the money men at the club, hope to God there is new investment in the off season.

How less? It's an ongoing monthly payment (that won't be going down) plus a "match pass" payment that surely will be on a par with this year's.

The way I understood it we were paying a fee for a membership and season ticket this year and then next year all we would be paying would be for season tickets. I couldn't get hold of Mr Hawkins to decipher the blurb and just opted for the top package.

I didn't study it in great detail as I bought one of the long-term tickets last year, but I did read that the membership direct debits continue until they are cancelled; so whatever you are paying monthly now, you will keep paying monthly until you cancel rather than it stop once you've paid a certain amount. All those who are still members will then pay for another match pass (£50/£70 or whatever it was last year) when the time comes.

Yep. The direct debit membership is a perpetuity and you pay a lump sum once a year for your match pass.

Wouldn't it be lovely ? Imagine season tickets on sale cost £xxx you pay £xxx
But i'm sure in keeping with making everything as difficult as possible it will continue to have more options than a Chinese menu.

| I think the payment plan is a good idea, now that I understand it. A tenner a month direct debit hardly breaks the bank and the £50 lump sum is only the cost of a night out on the town. The problem is that it looks and sounds more complex than it is. Hopefully the club can produce information for 2013 that makes the pricing structure easy to understand.

| Wonder how the lack of season ticket money upfront will affect/has affected the clubs finances now it is spread over a full season? Always remember the club saying how much they rely on getting it all in early and then being able to spend accordingly in the past.

They said totally the opposite this year. That was the thinking behind the direct debit payments so the club have some money coming in throughout the year not just as you say at the start of the season.

I'm always amazed that the club have never said if anyone wants to up what they pay on a monthly DD to help out the club they haven't. You'd think that if everyone currently paying £15 pr month DD doubled it then it would make a significant impact on the ability for the club to progress.
Not saying everyone would or indeed should but I'm very surprised the club have never given people that option.

It’s worked out well for me, and not having to find an extra £200 at Christmas was more than welcome.
Was a touch on the complicated side though.
