| Current forecast is for 9 degrees and rain on Saturday, so freezing shouldn't be a problem.

That's why I said current. That was what was on the 5 day on the local news on BBC breakfast. That's now saying 4c and rain/sleet.

| the weather forecast is just some educated guess looking back at previous weather patterns and seeing what the outcome and result of them, but because the earth's weather system is very dynamic things can change in a matter of hours making accurate forecasting nearly impossible for most of Europe. So if you want to see what the weather is like go stand outside.

| Frozen pitch shouldn't be an issue...... between Di, LT, MM & PT there's enough hot air to melt the polar ice caps, never mind thaw our new pitch!

| Looking at the forecast we’re likely to get -5 or -6 on Friday and Saturday night and having seen the covers we have there is no way they will provide sufficient protection to keep the frost out of the ground at those lows. The other problem is temperatures are unlikely to get higher than +1 either so no chance of any thaw.
I’d say prospects are bleak unless there is a significant change in the forecast or some more robust covers/heaters are installed but as per the Sale change of kick off time intimates as soon as the pitch is exposed even if arrangements made have kept the frost off up until then it will freeze immediately.
By the way never use the BBC Weather Forecast – it’s run by the Met Office and they are consistently the most inaccurate of all the weather agencies, remember 2011 a “barbeque summer” according to them! Mind is rusting away in the garage!

| Thursday clouds and sun. LowFriday times of clouds and sun LowSaturday increasing clouds LowSunday a couple of showers Low:2 High:7
Trafford area Weather report -
the heavy frosts & -4 & -6 on Thursday & Friday might put the game at risk as Saturday temperatures are sticking at around 0 so not warm enough to thaw.
As I said previously the Sale mob have hired heaters/blowers for the Edgley Park pitch , although the stockport area forecast is -2 degrees lower on Thursday & Friday .

Hi Shandy
No Iconic Stadium design , Casino & Hotel either.. just a big stand & some ' Bike Sheds ' as described by our pie eating friends .
Has been raised before on Reds FB page .
the official comment back was it would have added '900K' to the stadium build. so was cut from the project. as only required Jan - Feb , other than this game our next home match isn't until the 24th .
Would be a deal breaker for any club wanting to use the stadium for a autumn - Winter based sport though.
