| Jut signed as assistant for Manly. And he said he didn't have a job lined up?! What a joke but I suppose all the Parish lovers will say it's due to the board still! It's due to the fact he had a job lined up, plain & simple!!

| As my old stats teacher used to tate: "correlation does not mean there is any link."
Proof
please
Perhaps you can ask him if he comes across with the Manly team?

| And still the Parish lovers are blinded by the man! Funny how it was mentioned straight after Hasler left and within a week of walking out he turns up there! Do me a favour. The guy only came back from Oz in the first place because he couldn't get himself a job otherwise he wouldn't have come back at all. Answer me this, what personal problems have arisen that weren't there 5 weeks ago that are so severe he had to walk? And the old blame Simms or Tarry or JW is nonesense. He already told us how bad we are as a club so he couldn't use that old chestnut. The guy simply wanted out but couldn't afford it financially so had to wait for the first opportunity to get on that plane home. His heart wasn't in it, at least IMO. And HR that is all it is, my opinion but unless anyone can explain to me the REAL reasons I'm happy to go with my opinion. Surely you can see the argument here?

| I’m sure he hasn’t managed to get a job in a week.
Was he under contract, do we get any compensation, how does it all work?

There could be loads, one of my mates was fit and active a few months back running his pub, then out the blue he gets a headache goes to doctors and within two weeks is told he has an inoperable brain tumour which is terminal and very personal, so a lot can happen in 5 weeks.
Not in MP's case but I am sure this answers your question.

correlation was there but so were the rumours , from flying back to Aus last Thursday at 2pm to being actually in work as a Manly assistant coach the following Friday.
From his first interview with us in July his emphasis was to make an impact to get noticed back in the NRL , he said 5 years , it turned out 5 months , you can't hold training sessoins here in your shorts just down from surfers paradise...

| Bigpev, point well made and agreed. However, as you have also made the point, not in this case. His personal problems are that bad that he is back in work in a brand new job in 7 days. At the end of the day I'm sure we all want people who are committed to our club, especially the guy who is in charge.

| Manly must have a much quicker selection and interview process than we have.

| My view is he took the job in the best interests with a view to getting an NRL job further down the line. He came over and then realised it was a much harder job than he thought and allowed himself to be easily influenced by (Ignorant people with no sense of reality) and was gullible and daft enough to fire the guns they had loaded for him.
An interesting lesson here that you have to show patience and gain people's full respect by delivering results before people sit up and take notice of you.

Do you not think that it says something about the club that someone (anyone) was so keen to get out so quickly? And I'm not a "Parish lover" - just a concerned fan.

| No it doesn't.
In one of his first interviews he said that he wanted to prove himself here so he could get a job down under.
That was his game plan.
Fair enough but please don't give us all the crap about it being about Simms etc.
Matt was a prat, his heart wasn't in it and JW got the appointment wrong.
Let's move on and accept that we signed a bad un ,better to discover now than later.

| I'm still not understanding how you guys aren't getting it. People bang on about those who defend Parish, yet constantly defend those who are rightly to blame or all this. Firstly, Parish always said he wanted to go back to the NRL. That he has done. Now, the recruitment effort by the club was appauling. Parish was only on the list because the club messed up recruiting the people they actually wanted in the first place. They also wanted a quick appointment to get somebody in before the end of the season which have whoever would take the job very little time to look into the club fully. So he had to trust what he was told. This being that he would be given full charge to build a team. He was also told about our 'amazing' youth set up. So Parish comes over and hits a brick wall with everything he tries to do. Each time he makes a request he's knocked back. Not for financial reasons, but because they want to control everything. If they never intended to allow him this freedom, they should never have told him he could. He was hugely frustrated and each time he protested he got the cold shoulder treatment. That is impossible to work with. The youth setup was also nothing like he was lead to believe. So, let's just say he has the opportunity to go and work in a professional organisation in the NRL rather than the amateur set up at Salford, then who can blame him. The amateurism of the club didn't even tie him down to a contract which says everything about how they do things. I'm no big lover of Parish, but I just wish people would open their eyes and see things for real. Take the blinkers off.
