I agree woudln't pay 25p for that green canned swill
not when they could be selling these rlbeers of europerl for these at the new place
there's a few Local boozers 5 minutes from the ground for the more discerning , or the Willows Tavern , Willows Fans bar , Conny Club, Chandos even etc TBH pretty well catered for .

| I was charged £4 for a pint of Carling at Craven Cottage this season.
Carling is horrid, but this was a bad pint even by those standards

| I'm sure the majority of fans attending any sporting/music event consider the price of refreshments and such OTT to say the least. And rightly so.
To expect Joe Public to pay so much for standard fare is in essence, blatant robbery.
However, there is little point bleating on a forum about it. As previously mentioned, nobody is twisting your arm up your back, so either 'fill your boots' and be happy or just don't fall for it. Most people choose the latter.

To be honest, I wouldn't be too upset at being overcharged for standard fare. The problem is that at most venues you get overcharged for blatantly sub-standard fare. You can't get much worse than Carlsberg in a can.

| Whilst there's plenty of time to have a drink before and after the game it amazes me somewhat that people feel the need to drink throughout the game itself? I personally go to watch 80 mins of RL without the need for a drink or even trips to the loo. I see people coming and going in and out of the shed for the duration of the game, mainly the same people and wonder what they bothered turning up for as they miss most of the action.
However on the point of the price of the beer, why not just nip to Morrisons or the off licence before the game, wear a big coat and fill your boots with as many cans as you can carry? Job done!

| The point I am trying to make really is how much more could be made if they sold a good selection of beers like Erdinger or Warsteiner, £3 wouldn't be too bad if it was that.
And for those who are saying just don't buy, well it's less money in the Willows coffers, they should do the 2 pint pots like at HJ stadium!!!

The club is tied in with Carlsberg-Tetley, I guess. Thus ruling this out.

Everything's a bit more expensive at the KC from what I can remember. Don't know how you all afford it.

| I think beer pricing has become totally distorted due to the shear volume supermarkets sell. I remember having to pay about £4.50 at an off-license for 4 cans of lager 25 years ago. A friend of mine in the industry tells me the supermarkets absolutely screw their profit margins to the floor. He told me there is no negotiation, the buyer names his cost and says take the business or walk away. It's all about extremely high volume and low margin to the supermarket chains.
Supermarkets also don't have anywhere near the same running costs as a pub on a litre for litre or pint for pint basis. I think most people realise this and accept that pubs need to make more profit to cover their costs. As bizzare as it sounds independent drinking establishments could actually buy cans and bottles much cheaper from the supermarket than directly from the brewery. (But can't because their contract with the brewery would be terminated if they got caught) And they need the brewery for the draft beers and spirits.
