| talking to one of my mates the other day ,and we got onto the subject of the best salford game ever , i personally feel it was when we put saints out of the challenge cup in the quarters ,i think it was some time in the eighties, he said last season, against cetic at warrington , we all have our favourites , which is yours

it wasn't on the telly, because the bbc thought it would be a walkover, as we were in the 2nd division.

You're confusing it with a few seasons earlier, in the Peter Williams & David Cruikshank era, when we beat them in the league (not on TV) and in the Regal Trophy within the space of 3 weeks.

| 11th February 1996 was without doubt our finest hour since the 70's - ask any fan of another side, they all loved that one. I was working in Leeds at the time and after a few celebratory beers in Salford got a lift back to Leeds and arrived at the Skyrack in Headingley at 10:00. As me and a mate walked in, a chorus of 'Salford, Salford' was sung by around 50 lads, most of whom we did not know, but who were Lids & Bradfurd fans who were celebrating themselves. A memorable day indeed.
That & the first Grand Final win against Leigh. Last year, we knew it was all about the franchise. Back then, the whole future of the club depended on that game - I can honestly say I was dreading the match, just in case.
And finally, last Bank Holiday Monday. Hangover's galore, but all in a good cause

| Has to be the 26-16 win over Wigan in the challenge cup for me too. The atmosphere in the shed was electric! My other fav was beating St Helens 46-26 (I think) with one Gary Broadbent scoring a hat trick. One other stand out game (even though we played crap - nothing new I know) was playing London Bronco's in the cup at Old Kingstonian's ground, We should have lost that one! But we scored two quick tries in the last two minutes.. I've never seen Salford fans so ecstatic after the final whistle

| I'm definitely showing my age here, but in the 70s Leigh had a long winning streak, and Alex Murphy let it be known that he wouldn't get his hair cut until they got beaten. A few weeks later we beat them 15-5 at the Willows, and Murphy got stabbed in the head by a woman running at him with a pair of scissors (remember boys and girls, never run with a pair of scissors).
Ah, happy days...
I think it was in that season where Billy Burgess scored a try in the corner at Wilderspool to nick it against Warrington. Fantastic.
