| Maybe they don't want to play in a half empty stadium?

Will never spread the international game playing at Hudds, Wigan, Doncaster and Leeds every year.

Agree. Thought it would have been a good opportunity to play at one of the better football stadiums that don't host RL games (city of manchester being one example) but perhaps due to the time of year these kinds of places won't want their pitches being destroyed.

Maybe I'm missing something, but aren't they all football stadiums (bar Quins, of course)?

1997 - GB 14-38 Aus: 41,135 (SL Test)
1995 - GB 8-16 Aus - 66,540 (WC Final)
1995 - GB 20-16 Aus - 41,271 (WC)
1994 - GB 8-4 Aus - 57,034 (1st Test)
1992 - GB 6-10 Aus - 73,631 (WC Final)
1990 - GB 19-12 Aus - 54,569 (1st Test)
I think we'd be delighted to see any of those Wembley attendances at an international now. I'm with Karl, absolutely terrible choice of venues for this series. Opening match at Wembley would have been a great start to the tournament, instead same old Wigan and Hudds. Is 25,000 against Australia all our international game can hope for?

Sorry mate, don't think I worded that well enough. I meant grounds football stadiums that don't host RL like City of Manchester could've been an option or Anfield, Goodison, Reebok etc. rather than stadiums that hold RL games anyway.

But that obviously is not correct, we have achieved much higher gates when we have taken internationals to larger grounds in the past. Wigan and Huddersfield is short sighted in the extreme.

That was before the World Cup faisco though.
The optimism of the English RL going public going into the tournament will be low.
I guarentee none of the games will be sold out.

Completely agree to be honest, or at least in terms of the 'bok and Eastlands (keep away from those Scouse dumps! ) but that won't stop me from attending all of the games.
Most disappointing aspect, for me, is the final being at Elland Road - the place is an utter dump and surely Eastlands would have been a better option.

| To put things into perspective:
Eng vs Argentina: Rugby union friendly. Venue: Old Trafford. Capacity 76000.
Opening game of the 4 nations tournament: Keepmoat stadium. Capacity 15000.

Keepmoat stadium chosen because of the atmosphere created when they staged a semi there last year.
Still not for an international of this level, RL edging their bets for a decent crowd and a good atmosphere, after the WC. TERRIBLE.
