icon_confused.gif: Did anyone else experience difficulties with obtaining tickets for last Sunday's game?

We arrived at 2.30 p.m., spoke with a Steward outside the ground, who advised that you couldn't pay cash at the turnstiles, instead you had to get tickets from the Wrexham club shop, and so we then queued up for 20 minutes or so and got served at 2.50 p.m. By which time the queue had lengthened somewhat and was now snaking back out of the shop onto the street. If we'd arrived just 5 minutes later, we would have struggled to make the kick-off.

I did hear someone on BBC Radio Manchester after the game complaining about various aspects of the ticket selling arrangements including that the ticket desks closed at 3.00 p.m. (Does that mean that some of the latecomers didn't get in? - Perhaps they were the lucky ones?!)

Which all begs the following questions...

* Were these ticketing arrangements publicised anywhere before the game? (I've had another look at the programme for the home game v Leeds but couldn't find anything in there!)

* Were any tickets for this game available at The Willows beforehand?

* How exactly do Crusaders cope with crowds bigger than 2,400? Two ticket desks on Sunday for what was a modest attendance still seemed barely adequate!

the ticket machine broke apparently, there was some publicity on the turkey, but saw nothing official, I did visit the website and now realise I should have bought in advance there and picked up at Wrexham having paid £20 on the day. The fiasco in my mind sheds some doubt on the attendances given, a050.gif
or Salford took the most away fans ever, k020.gif
and the Crusaders fans were all on holiday apart from about 2000 of them. group-hug.gif

tickets were available in Salford club shop before the game.

I decided to go last minute and was stung for £20 for the pleasure. Is that the highest priced normal ticket in SL?

SALFORD CITY REDS CAUTION Supporting Salford City Reds can seriously damage your health WOOLSTON ROVERS ARLFC:19221.jpg

We were also charged £20 a head, my mrs kicked saying it said on the Crusaders own website that tickets were £12 seating and £10 on the terracing. When she pointed this out she was told she had been looking at the wrong site (which she hadn't) and he was a proper arragant to55er, who wasn't interested in listening to her complaint and ended up saying "look do you want the tickets or not?"

We bought the tickets and left, because there was a big queue behind us and we were holding them up and it was getting on for 2.40. When we got inside the stadium, my wife took her complaint to the head steward (who by the way was more than helpful). He said he'd go and look into our complaint and he'd get back to us. He came back about 10 minutes into the game. After he'd seen the website on my wifes phone he gave us a £20 cash refund and an appology for the way the bloke in the shop had spoken to her. He said the to55er would be losing his job, to which my missus said she didn't want that, just a bit of customer service training, but he said that this was just the final straw. They'd had several complaints about him, including the fact that he'd refused to sell anymore tickets after 3 o'clock. The stewards had to take cash on the gate to let a load of Salford fans in after 3 o'clock.

There were a few Salford fans who got into the ground late because of the queues outside, seems as though there was a dispute at the ticket office with one of the ticket operators.
Some Salford fans were disputing the charges & as a consequence the operator shut down the ticket machine bang on 3.00pm

I think GMR were going to take up the issue as there was at least 6 calls after the game from Salford supporters complaining about the ticket office & one of the operators.

We bought tickets on the morning of the game on the Crusaders website. Two adults and one child for £35.00. Picked them up in the shop about fifty minutes before kick off and no hint then of the mayhem that by all accounts was about to enfold.
I have to say, result aside, it was a most enjoyable afternoon. Our ticket allocation meant we were sat with the home supporters. I spent much of the match explaining the rules of rugby league to a long standing Welsh union supporter who I think will be back for more League Turkey, due to his admission that this game is much faster and more entertaining (no surprise to us in that!) So, our dismal performance has bred one
more League convert. I met others as well who were at their first League game and thouroughly enjoyed it (well they would based on that performance)
From others' comments it sounds like the Crusaders club needs to learn from Sunday's experience. Also, I thought local police presence, although very relaxed and friendly, was more atuned to a Wrexham FC game than a game of RL. Loads of them about and absolutely no need.

There again you are given an option, it's £23 for the main stand, but I'm sure it's only £18 the seats in the family/North Stand (which according to many is the best vantage point in the ground)

The question was about "normal tickets" and not highest priced tickets though.

The £20 yesterday was the least you could pay on the door to watch the game.

I believe that the least price you can pay on the gate at Hull is even more than £20??

£23 is definitely not the least you can pay on the gate at The Willows to watch a match.

Normal tickets start at £15 provided you pre order them. Family tickets are £35. Just phone the day before and then pick tickets up before match. Tickets start at £20 on the day to encourage people to pre-purchase their tickets and avoid delays on match day. The £10 and £12 pound tickets are for the game played at the Gnoll in Neath.
I paid £18 pound to stand under the sticks at the Willows for the Crusaders game. There was a £10 pre purchase promotion on but I as I was uncertain I would arrive in time to pick up the tickets before kick off because of the traffic on a Friday night, I opted to pay £18 on the gate. I didn't feel the need to come on here and complain because I hadn't bothered to take advantage of the promotion available.

Thats all well and good shirl. But if you don't live in Salford or have work commitments stopping you from getting to the Willows then thats about as good as or right hand side defence capabilities
