Height: 1.79m
Weight: 88kg
Darrell was a regular in the Wigan Warriors squad for 2008 and made 21 starts scoring 8 tries. Scored a brace of touchdowns in the games against Harlequins both home and away and was also a Grand Final winner with the Reserve side that defeated St Helens.
Goulding has been at the club since the age of 13 and has come through the club’s successful Scholarship scheme.
In 2007, Darrell had an impressive scoring ratio of 10 tries in 22 games, of which only four were starts.
He made his first team debut at Widnes back in 2005 and figured in 8 starts in 2006 scoring one try.
Quality centre who is very keen and enthusiastic with a tremendous attitude to the game.
He was also selected for the England academy at the end of 2006.
NOW HOPEFULLY HE CAN DO A JOB FOR THE REDS

| Despite what many Wigan fans will say (they love their 2nd rate imports) Goulding is a fine young player with a good attitude.
Playing under Noble has damaged his confidence and a change of scenery will do him the world of good.

I think you will find that 99% of our supporters rate Goulding quite highly. He has a tendency to not pass to the wingman at the right times which is why he needs more first team experience to help him develop.
We were all for sending him out on loan rather than a permanent deal to the Wire as we all believe he could have what it takes to be a Wigan player for years to come. He is just a bit raw at the moment

| Just spoken with my reliable source from Wigan - desribes him as excellent in attack, but slightly suspect defensively - thinks the move to Salford will be very good for him

Nope - he'd just called me and didn't know that the Goulding loan deal was finalised, but he's been watching Wigan for years (sad!!) and I rate his opinion on players.
But with our heroic last gasp defensive efforts on the lilne yesterday, is there room for him??

| An excellent loan signing imo if it happens. With Wigan signing Gleeson they may have to let him go to stay below the salary cap because I would imagine Gleeson's salary would be alot more than Mathers?
I've heard from several sources that Warrington were forced to sell Gleeson because they face an enormous retrospective tax bill due to not paying enough on players image rights.
It could be a good move for both Salford and Goulding this one. Perhaps the lad could really benefit and develop by playing regular first team football, he's certainly got the potential. Could have a similar impact to when we signed another young centre from Wigan by the name of Scott Naylor a few years back?

| Very good Ball in Hand at attacking the Line.
His passing is Ok but not great However he gets caught defensively when multiple runners are coming through!
Good signing for you guys and a good move for Goulding/Wigan with a view to him picking up some valuable experience!

| I think that Goulding would be an excellent acquisition if he comes to the Willows and will add strength to what is our weakest area of the squad.
Is this Mossop fella a 2nd rower too? If so I don't know why we'd want him (no offence as I'm sure he's a decent player) as we're pretty well covered in the back row

You heard wrong. Martin Gleeson wanted out and we wanted him out because of his disruptive influence. Disapointing really as he's a good player but who wants a player that doesn't want to stay?

Is this one of the reasons Gleeson has moved to Wigan....to be nearer one of his good friends?? Allegedly of course...
