| Reading in today's MEN that the club will soon be displaying two large posters of Rangi Chase and Gareth Hock at the side of the A580. I think this is a great idea by the club to raise awareness. I can only imagine the club needed special consent via council planning to do this.

Sounds good, let people know who/where we are you have to speculate to accumulate

| What use is that, the East Lancs traffic travels that fast.
Oh wait a minute that's brilliant, certain parts up near Mooreside Road are a virtual car park, you could put a big screen up and show old games cars are stationary that long.

| Great to see the club finally realize the importance of being visible in the local community. Any chance someone could post a pic?
This process needs to continue: posters in shop windows, banners on schools + amateur clubs etc.

| You'd hope they do put them up around the section with the roadworks as the traffic really does just sit there in rush hour.
I often wonder what the cost of the banners is that they sometimes have up advertising games, surely if you could approach schools withe some free tickets in exchange for displaying a banner near school gates that's got to be a good option for some promotion.

I've used banners in the past to promote the amateur club I was involved with and they cost peanuts (I got a large one for the outer wall of the clubhouse for 35 quid fully installed). They're even cheaper if you order in bulk.
It's an incredibly cost effective way of promoting the club.
The posters you get in shop windows cost buttons too.

There you go then.
Approach ten schools and offer each a number of tickets, rotate the schools you approach and target areas with communities from overseas with the view that offering them some form of association to the area they now live in will hopefully entice them to return.

| I'd approach every school/club our Foundation is active in as well as any pubs who might be willing to support us. These banners are ridiculously cheap and many places will let us use their walls free of charge.

| It will be interesting to see if the clubs policy of basically marketing the club as a new franchise will be a success in attracting new fans to come and watch us.

| My friend works in the council has shown me some and they are pretty cool.
They are of different players.
I am a sales rep and it is my job to travel round the north west and when you go to places like warrington, wigan and saint helens all have posters and banners up and the city has an identity with the team,
None of that in salford!
Until now!! lol

Spot on. This is long overview.
Best promotional material of this kind I've ever seen was in the North Island of NZ. When you drive into Waikato province there's a huge billboard featuring six mean looking Super Rugby players bearing the legend..... 'Warning: You are now entering Chiefs country!'
Massive visual impact.

HH, Hock and Griffin would have that same effect, Tasi with the worlds whitest grin might not though.

| Cracking posters, let's hope they have the desired effect, wonder if the council charge for putting something like that up, after all more bums on seats means more revenue for the stadium so it's win win for them.
