Not only now will I be paying an extra 65.00 (13 games x 5) per season on top of my season ticket for the privilege of parking at home games but I notice that the official SCR's site states that you cannot just pay and park on the same day. Apparently you now have to purchase a parking ticket a least a day before the game itself! If this isn't a p*sstake then I don't know what is. d040.gif Can someone please tell me why? eusa_eh.gif

Have to be honest if I was driving to the game I'd park up at the Traff and get the £1 each way transfer. People say it's pretty standard price wise but for me that is scandelously expensive and the having to buy the day before runs the risk of a newcomer wanting to roll up on the day and getting turned away to park elsewhere - could cost bums on seats for me.

Can just imagine a large away following like Warrington or Wigan turning up and unaware of this ridiculous situation. Would cause complete havoc on the night!
Will probably end up parking in Weaste and getting the bus. Presumably the money for the bus journey would go to the club as opposed to the money for parking at the stadium which would go to the stadium owners?

I agree but the paying the day before is crazy, can't see any logic unless it's going to have automated access to the parking and you print your ticket.

TD,
Sadly you are not the only one.(The Facebook page also has a number of complainers)

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats do not have the privilege of a new stadium - nor do they have car parking facilities at their current home.Should they get the new stadium I don't think paying for parking will be of any concern.
The so-called Magic Weekend will be held at the Etihad Stadium - to park at the stadium is £10 and to park with a 15 minutes walk is £7.
Over at Langtree Park,St Helens,the disabled supporters have to go to the bother of booking their parking space in advance.
The only suggestion in answer to the question why would be because it falls in line with the current state of the nation.There is no such thing as a free lunch.
Of the clubs with the highest attendances,Leeds disabled supporters who hold season tickets are able to purchase a limited number of car parking season passes in advance and Wigan charge the same amount £5.
The complaints from their supporters,if they ever started,have now seemingly ceased.
It would be nice to emulate those clubs on and off the pitch.

* Did my frustration shine through the above ? * chillpill.gif chillpill.gif chillpill.gif

As the money goes to the stadium it may be better to give the money to the club by other means.

I suppose having enjoyed free parking around the Willows for a number of years has probably spoilt me and so it's probably for that reason that I resent having to pay for future home games. I've never paid in the past at places such as St. Helens, Leeds or Wigan as I've always found near by street parking quite easy. As regards Wakefield, one visit via the Salford Reds coach trip was sufficient for me as it was a ground I had no intention of ever returning to. Fortunately the trip to the Etihad is perfect for me as I work just 10 minutes down the road and will leave my car securely locked up for the day at no cost. icon_biggrin.gifANCE:

A fiver isn't that bad considering. I don't mind to much paying it. I do however begrudge having to pay a booking fee again! Plus doing it like that is a ball.ache especially for away supporters

Was there really any need for that? If you can't contribute without getting abusive (particularly if it's for no apparent reason) find another forum.
