| Hard to swallow but that's what I feel we're getting. How well the 'new' Salford RLFC go forward is anyone's guess? I already feel disassociated. I also feel as though it will be like supporting a new entity created from an existing DNA wherby I've been robbed and it's not what I asked for or was promised, or putting it another way it's not what I want?
I owe my support to the club through the veins running through me, given from generations beyond, but I find it so difficult to find a solution to carry on?
I'm on the verge of - Salford R.I.P.
Can anyone convince me otherwise because I feel slightly shamefull? However another side of me say's am I really bothered? Wonder what Wilko thinks? - Anyone else?

| Obviously the blue seats haven't helped but I feel its a time of uncertainty for us all this is water Salford haven't treaded before so we're out of our comfort zone. I still feel excited by the move to Barton chance of a new era and I think we're going there with the right man for the job however its on the pitch where the worries still are hopefully that'll change under Parish just got to sit back and watch it unfold being a pessimist though I reckon it'll be same old Salford...I really hope not because this is our big chance.
Having the same people behind the scenes though is holding us back IMO If Wilky can find the right buyer for the club which obviously will be hard and they bring in there own people shake things up that could do wonders for us, I'm not naming names cause I'll get shot down but I think we all know which roles at the club get questioned the most.

| SICKENING.
Basically who's going to be the first to openly admit that they are upset by the blue seats because it is a rugby union club? or maybe in some cases I get the impression it's because of the colour blue being associated with Manchester City. Salford as an entity was never going to be able to fully fund a stadium so getting co tennants is the perfect (and from a business snse the only one)solution to making it self sufficient. I personally don't care who the other tennants are as long as Salford get a 50/50 at use of the facilities, there will have to be some give and take (still I've not seen anyone sayd that if Sale want a Friday for a game and we play on a Sunday that it would be a good thing for the fans despite the bitching about Fridays being no good - it would just be the queue for another doommongers session).
We have a state of the art new ground, from what I hear a bloody good young coach and the nucleous a decent young team so why is knowone looking at the positivies rather than doing all they can to bring everyone down with thier downbeat attitude.
Why not just simply not bother as the collective negativity is draining, go find something else to whine endlessly about, find Jesus, hug a tree or develop a drug habit just sod off and stop trying to drag everyone else down.

| Imo you have to embrace change, the club is struggling at the bottom of the super league right now and I am hoping that a change of scenery will create a change in attitude both on and off the field by the club and us the fans.
The experience will be what you make it, it will be a negative one if you bitch all the way through the transformation the club is learning from this experience too I too hope there are changes behind the scenes but to do it right now would threaten a real tail spin if we got it wrong.
The new stadium will mean a new and exciting chapter for salford and us the fans, a new Outlook a new way I'd go away watching salford and visit these new stadiums and think I wish salford was like this, new fans will love it I'm sure the people who need convincing are us the people who have followed this team to the end of the world and back.
People get upset that the original design but do you honestly believe we would be in this situation without peel / salford council help? Short answer no we can't even get a shirt in a shop in time never mind build and fund a stadium if the stadium wasn't built when it was the end for us RIP SALFORD RUGBY be that quick or 20 years in the 2nd division
It gives us an opportunity to make somthing here, history is being made and we are in the driving seat its in our hands if this is a success not the club or not the stadium management team

| Black Cat, Fans are the glue which binds the club and gives it a soul, a stadium is just steel & concrete and this is the fourth place the club has played at least , but still less important than it's fans , we're all wondering. so hang on in there ..

After reading that over analytical, melodramatic slop, I can’t help but think that:
1. You’re watching too many American teenage programs (OC, Dawson’s Creek, etc).
2. You need to get a grip!
I can’t work out if this is the main crux of your problem, but as people keep posting about it.
If you don’t want to sit on a blue seat…… don’t sit on one!
Now that I’ve solved the important issues that face mankind, excuse me while I make a phone call to Merkel and Sarkozy.
Let the abuse roll!

| FFS.
The world economy is collapsing, people being made redundant left right and centre the UK going down the pan and people complain about sitting on a blue seat.
I will sit on a bed of nails if Salford start winning and get consistently in the play offs.
It is a new start embrace it or go and stare at photos of the Willows.

Completely the wrong shade of blue for that.

Where exactly have you heard this, I'm sorry but being personally close to a few of the longer serving players they have conveyed exactly the opposite. There main point being MP is barking! When returning he didn’t bother speaking to them, just barked orders of what to do in the gym. More worryingly the players said he has hardly been present in coaching since returning, It’s Phil and Sean who have taken the coaching role rather than MP….
That being said he has a meeting with the board this week about his future, his feelings being that he may not continue, he was hoping to be offered a job in OZ so he didn’t have to return, and those feelings are felt mutually by the board….they simply don’t want him there, after he publically mutilated the club. I’m not saying it was or wasn’t warranted what he said a couple of months ago as I know most of you are of the opinion it was that honesty that was required, however the board didn’t see it that way, and as far as there concerned there are ways and means of doing that sort of thing. I personally feel he made such an outburst to cover his back. Again I’m not saying that’s wrong as the point he made were probably all bang on however that sort of feeling between club and coach are only going to get worse.

Probably the reason I started the thread mate and things I get to know aren't just hearsay!
However - I don't recall anywhere it was stated I didn't like blue seats? It's like Chinese whispers on here at times I couldn't give a toss what colour they are!
Same name, new stadium, different club?

are these the same lazy players that have let us down on many occasions, at least he went to the gym.
perhaps he will change things, because if he doesn't then Salford will be finished after 3 years.

| Rob,
Most fans will embrace the new stadium, the problem for most of us is the stadium is the only new thing.
I ahve never felt so disillusioned about the club or sport as I do now.
We have rumours of disharmony yet again and players bitching about a coach. Maybe it is time for these senior players to sling their hooks.
Lack of recruitment- we only seem to have signed a couple of decent players the rest are journeymen, the squad looks thin.
The club manage to make season tickets purchase seem over complicated
The lack of thought for fans. We should have a free day to inspect the ground and be able to purchase a season ticket there and then.
Marketing where is it?
The shadow of Sale- whilst most accept that we need to generate income and sharing is the obvious solution most fans worry about the publicity we will lose as the MEN is more interested in Union and Kennedy wrecking things. I am worried we will become a 2nd class club in our ground.
