According to Hull chairman Adam Pearson at the clubs 150th anniversary dinner, Justin Carney has signed for us next season absolutely delighted with that if true.

More than happy if that's true, as long as other members of the squad are happy with the issues of what happened at Cas I can't see anything but positives from signing someone with his huge talent.

Griffin, Carney, BJB and Sa'u is just a massive set of backs, throw in Johnson, MCB and the rumoured big back from NZ Warriors and the back line doesn't look that bad.

You will have yourselves a very good player. Circumstances dictated he couldn't remain at Cas or move to Hull FC and he had few options left, with most clubs having reached the salary cap and/or the number of non-fed trained players allowed.
His strike rate of a try a game is not to be sniffed at, though it has to be noted he has played outside one of the best centres in the league in Michael Shenton who is excellent at creating the space Carney needs to build up a head of steam before contact with the defender. It will be interesting to see if he does as well outside a different centre.
On ability, I'm disappointed he is going. However, there is no choice in this for the good our our club and I doubt he leaves with the best wishes of most of our players, coaching staff or fans.

On a playing sense it's a great addition, but his ability to give your Mrs a good seeing too behind you back might take a while to the gain trust of the players. At the end of it all he's probably regretting the whole fiasco and learned his lessons. Come to think about it i know a few Carney's like this, with a deceitful and perception problem . Must be a name thing.
