| To my reckoning 10 players who started the 2015 season won't be with us next year. Looking at the list below I can only imagine this to be a sizeable chunk of money off our salary cap. How much? It must be well over a million pounds?
It's going to be very interesting to see who Tim Sheens can attract considering the club have left it so late due to our SL future being uncertain until last Sunday. Hopefully we have a few irons in the fire and the club can announce some positive publicity for a change.
Gareth Hock
Kevin Locke
Tony Puletua
Theo Fages
Adrian Morley
Lama Tasi
Harrison Hansen
Scott Taylor
Cory Paterson
Rangi Chase

| You can add Jason Walton to the list. I thought there was someone else too but nobody springs to mind.

| They all left / were known to be leaving weeks, even months ago. The club will have been busy lining up their replacements, no fear.
This next period in the club's history is for me, make or break. Despite the recent issues, if, with the current Australian head coach on board (and I still can't quite believe that he is here) and an owner so wealthy that he can afford to write off Hansen's and Chase's contracts in one fell swoop, we can't get our recruitment right, we may as well all give up and go home.

| 12 players is far too much but I think we have to take the pain of past mistakes now and carefully build a squad for the future that Sheens knows can do a job for us.

Hats off to Sheens for being so bold. I remember when Fergie got shut of Whiteside and McGrath at United and everyone thought he'd lost his marbles. They weren't the right players to have around the club and history proved he made the right call.

| The 5 youngsters being promoted impacts less on recruitment, bringing in such high numbers each season so far means that we are starting from scratch, the best teams tinker rather than make whole sale changes.

| The best teams only need to tinker.
I'm not saying making wholesale changes will work, it's obviously failed us twice in the past 2 years. We're not in a position where changing just a couple of players around is going to get us anywhere near where we want to be though.
That and the fact that almost all of the players that are gone/going have been pretty much forced anyway.

| We have to trust Tim Sheens on this. He may not get it right in 100% of the cases, but he is the most knowledgeable, well respected, experienced coach in the game today. The last time we had a marked improvement in playing performances was when Harrison led us to the playoffs - I don't remember there being too many big time Charlies in that team. Every other attempt to improve the club since has failed. If Sheens says get rid, we get rid. He is exactly the no-nonsense, disciplined, professional we have been crying out for.

| Just read that Monaghan is undecided which Super League team he will join, if we are one and he is undecided I'd suggest that means his heart won't be in it, hope to God Salford say no.
Much rather Carney comes in and we have BJB, Johnson, MCB and him as the wing options.

| I'd hope we're not looking at Monaghan anyway, despite rumours that he may be coming here. He's been a brilliant player but looks like far past his best now.

Totally agree. He would of been a very decent signing about 4-5 years ago. Let's hope the days of signing other clubs aged cast-offs are a thing of the past.

| To my reckoning we have a squad of 21 currently at the moment that being;
Evalds
BJB
Josh Griffin
Sau
Johnson
Dobson
Lee
Hauraki
Forster
J Walne
A Walne
Hood
Lannon
Wilkinson
Bibby
Bent
Wood
G.Griffin
D.Griffin
Menzies
MCB
So bring in another 8/9 we have a sizeable squad!

I agree to an extent.
But any Club signing anyone is signing that Clubs cast-offs, surely?
You bring a negative conatation to the term, after all, Scott Taylor was a Wigan cast-off.
