| I know the bigger picture of securing super league for next year is more important, but I just wanted to say how well the team played yesterday. From the very start we wanted to win more than I've seen all this year. I thought Dobson controlled the game perfectly and took the sting out of Widnes with a superb kicking game, though Logan Tomkins was my man of the match. It's the most I've seen him scoot from dummy half since he joined. Just those couple of meters he took each play got our forwards rolling and then we got quick PTB's on the back of this. We played high percentage, low risk rugby which ground Widnes down and we only made 2 handling errors in the 1st half which also helps. Our defence was the best I've seen in a long time too with some great try saving tackles. Full credit to Ian Watson for instilling the right attitude and the right game plan in order to win a must win game.

| I agree.
There was no poor performers yesterday at all. The stand-out performers for me were Sau, Taylor, and Tasi. Dobson organised well Tomkins was the busiest I've seen him in a Salford shirt. For me, though, the tactics and homework by the off-field staff made the difference. Attitude was right from the start, and targeted speed and enthusiasm in attack to keep Widnes on the back foot. Our forwards dominated, which surprised me as I thought Widnes are more than capable of doing that with their pack. We looked well-drilled in defense and much more focused than I've seen for a while. We played smart and quick RL and Widnes had no answers for it. So hats-off to Watson and Sheens for working hard on that aspect. We also looked fitter than Widnes so a nod to the trainers for keeping the players as fit as possible at this late stage in the season.

It's difficult to remain fit when your opposition are throwing dirty shots in. Twisting ankles, numerous high shots, etc. Must just be a coincidence that four of our players got concussion.
You guys deserved the win, but you played dirty doing it. Maybe going after Leigh's title?

He had hold of Brown's leg. Check the video... Brown got his leg out and Griffin start swinging.

| I didn't see anything dirty from Salford yesterday. Brown shoved his knee in on Griffin and Josh reacted accordingly. Hansen' yellow card was a joke, the momentum of his tackle forced him to twist in the tackle, nothing deliberate about it at all. The same goes for Liam Hoods high tackle, it happens every week in every game, should have been a penalty and nothing more.
The worst decision was the apparent 'shoulder charge' which penalised Tomkins. All the kid did was stand his ground and the Widnes attacker ran into him.
Poor game from Childs.

| That's not how the Salford Bred Widnes coach saw it
Quote: Salford came out and bashed us and we were bullied but not unfairly. They were physical and we responded poorly. " Dennis Betts - "Salford came out and bashed us and we were bullied but not unfairly. They were physical and we responded poorly."'"
As for the sending off , KB was a late third man into the tackle from the side and he should never have had his leg in there in the first place , Griffin just made an attempt to play the ball. There was some pushing & shoving and handbags ensued .

In the end widnes had a numerical advantage for a quarter of the game and should have made use of this but didn't .game over.

Being a fan of the side that won I re-watched the game (Something you probably haven't done) and the 'concussions' were all due to normal action in the game. Two were the result of head clashes with team members. The few high shots we gave away were nothing malicious just reactionary or poor technique. As were the high shots from Widnes. I don't think there was anything in Hansen twisting an ankle, was just down to momentum and body positions.
Here's a little advice, sometimes other teams are better than you on the day. Blaming everything from perceived dirty play, referees, high shots, plastic pitch, or David Cameron's pig lover just makes you look like a bitter, desperate, cranky cry-baby.
From now on, that's how I'm going to refer to you.
