If true, I've been made to look very silly. Albeit things could have changed since I last spoke to him. For example we could have signed a specialist hooker.

Sneyd is not a hooker! He is a very good scrum half. I imagine there will be some negotiating yet though from the Dr and sneyd and agent.

Disappointing but not surprising. He's achieved more in half a season at Cas than the extortionate time waiting for a chance at Salford. Looks like another year as a squad player didn't appeal. Can't blame him really.

he may not sign for Cas if (and only if) the club accept his request, any transfer fee may be out of our reach and I expect the Dr to put a fair price on such an emerging talent therefore pricing us out of the market (if not for all the abuse he has taken off our moron fans on twitter then just because he can) I imagine he wouldn't want to lose face after publicly saying many times that Marc will be at Salford next year

Fwiw. If the accept isn't granted, it will go to an RFL tribunal which Marc will win as long as his contract is paid off. That'll be a lot less than £100k.

Here's a thought. What if there isn't a transfer fee? What if, say, it's a player swap instead? There's an interesting little time line here:

- Marc Sneyd is coming back to Salford to be a squad member, and probably second choice half-back
- It's reported that logan Tomkins will return to Wigan at the end of this season
- Salford suddenly, out of nowhere, express an interest in Daryl Clark
- Marc Sneyd (reportedly) hands in a transfer request....

Why would he win the tribunal? Joel Moon took us to a tribunal in order to get out of his contract in 2012 and lost. rlLinkrl. As it happened, at that time we needed the money and he left to Leeds for a fee. This time, however, we don't need the money from a transfer.

Are we likely to see a transfer bid for Sneyd from Cas? For some reason people seem to think Salford should just cave in and let him go for free. It will be interesting to see how much Cas value him at.

Would prefer him too go anywhere but Castleford, I personally think he will go to a big club and have a genuine crack at becoming the future England/GB scrum half.

Bit underhand if he has been promising one thing to the club then throwing this in.

Rather than any transfer fee I'd be much happier to see some good young British talent come to the club from say a Wigan, Leeds or Saints.

I'm not surprised Marwan is upset, He's spent the last month or two telling everyone how much Marc wants to stay and that he's going nowhere. I'm sure the Warrington's, Wigan's and Rhino's of this world will be willing to offer an amount that will change the good Doctors mind.

He will be absolutely fuming like any boss would if a prize asset wanted to jump ship just when things started looking like they were falling into place.

You can understand that now Marc has shown he has the ability to perform and mix it at the top level that he wants away. Why should he show loyalty to a team that we willing to loan him out to what was thought to be a relegation dog fight. I'm sure Marwan will learn from these mistakes and will think twice when sanctioning such a loan in future.
