| Does anyone seriously believe that Kevin Locke is the answer to all Salfords problems?
We have signed lots of decent players but they cant play together!
We have a squad of individuals whose only connection to each other is that they wear the same shirt. We need to build a togetherness, not just buy what is perceived to be a better player to paper over the crack.

32990_1435324474.jpg First accept sadness. Realise that without losing 70% of the time, winning wouldn't be such a relief.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_32990.jpg |

| Not the entire solution by a long chalk but he certainly should help improve one of a few problem areas the team has had this year, lack of pace in the backline.
As for your comment on an evident lack of togetherness. I'm fairly sure Harris is fully aware of the situation and is addressing it as an urgent priority on a day-to-day basis. It's a bit of a chicken and egg though isn't it? Because togetherness and team spirit usually grows with positive results and we haven't had any for weeks.

I don't think anyone has previously suggested that he will fix all of our problems.

It wasn't in response to anyone suggesting it. It was merely a generalisation!

simpsons/PDT13.gif I SEE THE SALFORD REDS ARE RISING!
bring on 22nd July:simpsons/PDT13.gif |
|
| I think its a start.
The real problem with us at the moment is that we are victim of our "small club" mentality for years. It is hard to bring in a winning culture to a club.
Look at city, wire no matter how much you spend and what players you bring in it takes time for it to gel and come together. then after a couple of years, i theory it should start coming together.
The answer is time and effort, simples.

I think you have it spot on, what are the players looking for at Salford as a group, it certainly doesn't look like they are there to put there bodys on the line for each other and to win at all costs. I think the mistake Noble made as I am sure you all already know was to give good paydays to guys at the back end and throw cash at others who had looked good in poor teams and they were more than willing to snap his hand off.
You all know you cant just throw a champion team together, look at leeds saints wigan & warrington it takes years and you have to have players coming up through the ranks who have all played to the same systems from day one. It may sound bitter but my honest opinion is at least 5 years before you can push for top 6 because by the sounds of it you will be starting with a scratch team again next year, I wish you well but even if you start struggling again next year I think you have to stick with Harris or you will all be having the same conversation again this time next year.

| I wouldn't be expecting Kevin to change this seasons fortunes. He's still a way of full recovery ( getting there so that's the important bit ) he needs to play games to get his fitness back and blow out the cob webs that would realistically take a player post a serious knee injury several months.
Don't get me wrong , he's not a lame duck....just the reality of the situation if you take Locke this year he won't be peaking till end of the comp.
I've watched him play this year , he's moving ok , the speeds not at full tilt , but he's going ok.
One player can't tip the fortunes of a disjointed team. We are finding that out with Sam Tomkins at my NRL club the NZW....and Sams Fit.
If your current fullback is rubbish Locke will be better than Rubbish right off the bat.
I really hope it works out for Kevin, he is a brilliant player when he is in form. Solid at the back , and can pull off some pleasing interplay with a good creative half.
I'd love to see him repeat the form of 2010 and 2011 before things went sour, he was one of the best over the two happy years of his career.
No reason to expect that in 2015 he won't be busting to get all of it back , I know Kevin, I know he misses the thrill of being on top his game. He certainly will give it a crack. If the situation was reversed I'd be happy for the Warriors to sign Locke all things considered were he an external player with his quality coming into our system.

| I think Locke will be like Brett Hodgson was for the Giants. He's a very smart rugby league player who works in all parts if the field. I think he'll lead your team around the field.
Harris (should he be given a lengthy chance) should be part of it. He should be given a chance to take you so far which I don't think will trophy Sucsess but will be a team fighting for 6th-8th

That's not what Martin Vickers said on the radio tonight. Deal done and Kevin Locke is handling the visa stuff himself.
Wait and see, I guess.
