| Can't say this thrills me, would rather have Evalds getting game time with us then sign a player past his prime

Agree. I'd see Evalds as the cover we need for Jake.

| Before anyone jumps on the Niall Evalds bandwagon, what if Jake Mullaney doesn’t get injured and Niall is sat in the stands for the remainder of the season? The kid needs regular game time and he will get that at Barrow. This is absolutely the right thing to do, despite how odd it seems.
Michael Platt will provide cover at full-back, wing and centre should we need it (Leeds will be his first appearance I would imagine).

| You have to be kidding? First Harris now Platt, this stinks of Salford 5 years ago, massively underwhelmed.

| I see this signing as cover for Gleeson and S'au in the centres where we are a bit thin. Other than switching Meli from the wing
what other option do we have? I guess a bonus is his versatility to play fullback also.
I appreciate this isn't a signing to get the pulse racing but it could be invaluable if we pick up injuries as the season progresses.

| He's been training with the squad for the last 10 days on a trial basis too, so I assume they're happy with what they have seen.

| I must admit, it does feel a bit underwhelming, but I'm going to reserve judgement until he's had a bit of game time.

| With cap restrictions, he will come cheap, so on that basis understandable. We do not have room under the cap to bring in big names at this point in the season. He will spend most of his time in the stands, but is experienced whatever anyone thinks of his abilities. He gives cover across the three quarters and full back if needed.

| Nothing more than a squad player IMO should anything happen to the backs in the 1st team.
Though I agree Everalds (apologies for spelling) should have been promoted by now, I was more disappointed we got the Wigan lad in on the wing when Everald could have covered probably better than he did, doubt he would have dropped the kick the Wigan lad did, and before anyone says any back could have finished the tries he scored.
Doesn`t Platt come with some baggage ? No wonder we aren`t as fast as we hoped !
PS Anyone remember that winger/centre we had.....................Williams I think ?

| What is the obsession with Salford fans wanting to play our bright youngsters out of position? Manfredi had a good solid first and only game which justified his signing by Noble at the time.
Evalds is nowhere near ready for Super League yet, he needs at least a full season in the Championship if not two.

| Can't underestand why people who never watch the junior sides always call for the younger players to get a chance. If anyone bothered they would have seen Evalds former tapered off dramatically last year and I would imagine the coaching staff don't think he's done enough in training.

| Bit of a shame what has happened to Evalds. Has gone from being arguably the best player in the academy side that finished 2nd in the top division, to playing in the 2nd tier reserve team comp the following season, followed by 3 months without playing any rugby at all. Hopefully he can get back to enjoying his rugby again at Barrow.
If only Vievers had played him at the start of last season instead of signing Jack Murphy......

This ..
Brian spend all our cash , and presumably - other SL clubs won't give us their better loan players themselves with the Busy Easter - CC - Magic Weekend fixtures coming up . we've little experienced cover other than Williams , Walton's injured , and the promising 20's lads are getting game time & toughened up in the championship , - it's the Wigan way , even Wigan took on James as cover this season , and Platts a local lad, with >200 games SL experience and at 30 he'll be one our younger signings ... there's a refreshing nomality .
