| More than a shame ! Killer blow !
He was enthusiastic and uber-professional,in my view.
Our huge loss and a huge gain to another rugby league club.
I can only wish him the very best for his future.
How much more can the players take.As a supporter it feels like I'm part of a modern, updated Milgram Experiment.

| I think it was always going to be the case as soon as Noble came on board. It’s a shame as long has done a decent job for us, but we just need to get on with it as Noble will obviously want to bring his own backroom staff in. Personally I’m that bothered about Long going, we’ve brought Noble in to do a job and you’re even with him or against him and obviously him and Long can’t work together. As Noble and the good doctor have said you’ve got to want to be at Salford, if not then get gone!!!

| Yes,I wish him well for the future.
Its sod all to do with an experiment.
You can't appoint a guy to lead any organisation on the basis of who might leave if you do.
One or two eggs will be broken to make this particular omelette .

| Killer blow?? To what exactly?
Some people need to calm down somewhat. He's an assistant coach who has done a decent job but if he cant/wont work with the head honcho then it's best he goes now and doesnt undermine him from the start.

| I do think it's a shame, but I guess he felt that regardless of any past history with the new boss then as Noble has stated that he will be bringing in some out his own staff then perhaps he was moving down the pecking order.
But, onwards and upwards!!

Killer blow?
Come on!!! We're not exactly going to shrivel up and die if Long goes. We now have fresh start with Noble in charge and if Long dosn't like it then so be we don't need him here. We need everyone to be in this together if we're to improve.

| This could be a blessing in disguise if it means Noble can appoint his successor.

| mixed feelings here, I think last season ball in hand we were as good as anyone in SL (entertainment wise) especially with the Pattern Moon Holdsworth combo. That said we only amassed 618PF which isn't enough and Longy was responsible for the offensive side of things. Anyway I'd like to thank Longy for his hard work with the SCR and wish him well for the future.

A most ridiculous post.
Balls to how much more the players can take. They're not in charge. The Dr. and Noble are. About time we had a backroom staff with backbone, we've suffered from the players and fringe staff having too much influence for far too long.
Onwards and upwards.
