| Sorry but over the past few weeks the serial doom and gloom merchants have derailed every thread to the point where decent posters have given this the Spanish archer, but after a trip to the ground yesterday it all struck me.
We are in a brilliant brand new ground with plenty of potential for the ground to grow with the team and the fans.
The stadium has a brand new gym facility opening soon (OK not the clubs or infact the stadium but it's a boost for the stadium to have something like that on site.
When you see the link on the other thread to the future improvements to the site you see just what an enticing prospect Salford will become to investers being right on the doorstep of a massive new transports hub, new road/rail link and retail outlets.
We have a team that for once is a team, they seem to be pull for each other and have no little desire to win. We have some class players in the likes of Broughton and Williams, with someone of the likes of Moon to come back to compliment an already comptetive back line.
Patten looks to be starting to really hit his straps and looks a huge attacking threat.
We have in McPherson and Ashurst tow very enthusiatic forwards who will hopefully only improve the better the weather gets and firmer the pitches become. We have Feka seems to be a man posssesed this season and for me will improve the longer the season progresses.
We have in Sean Long a young coach who I think we can all see is destined for grerat things and is already bringing an attacking style of rugby that we have been starved of for many years.
Veivers seems to me to be a wonderful level headed coach who has the respect of his players and his employers and could very well become the coach to take Salford forward over the next three seasons.
Isn't it nicer to look at the positives of being a Salford fan rather than letting people with an agenda try to drag us all down.

I don't have an agenda. I just happen to say what i hear and observe. You want to believe it's an agenda. Doom and gloom is because we've been served a pile od shlte for 30 god damn years, it's almost become part of our DNA.
I haven't been derailed either. i've posted positive views lately. Why you might ask. it's because i've observed positive attributes, mainly players attitudes this season mentally and physically, the transformation has startled me, but i don't want to count my chickens due to the marathon we have in front of us and past experiences, in the meantime i'll carry on being me, posting my views as i see as usual, so if you don't like them, tough, i ain't going nowhere MR. If i see positive i'll post positive.

Welcome back, see none of the people with an agenda have replied, hopefully they have found a different cause to champion, maybe they can go join Sean Penn and help liberate the Falklands.

| after 4 games at the start of the 2011 season we had won 1 lost 3 scored 82 against 136 diff - 54 points 2
now this season after 4 we have won 2 lost 2 scored 82 against 102 diff -20 points 4
both years scored 15 tries
so defence appears better but attack is the same.

| Stats mean nothing. I can see what's good and what's not good. The attack looks a whole lot quicker from 1st to 2nd man which is key.

| I think the squad depth and balance is actually better this year than last.
Consider that on Friday night we were without Godwin, Williams, Moon, Gledhill and Anderson through injury. All positions were ably covered. All the players who have stepped in when called upon this season - Gibson, Boyle, Sidlow, Owen, etc - have performed well.
When you look at last season's departees - Stefan Ratchford, Ray Cashmere, Mark Henry, Jack Spencer, Rob Parker, Adam Clay - how many will we seriously miss? (Clue: any answer above 2 is wrong!)
Factor in that we have an all-new-Feka, a more settled Patten, a more consistent Jewitt, a half back pairing that appears more in-tune, along with all the new signings - Shannan McPherson, Ben Gledhill, Josh Veivers, Stuart Howarth, Joel Moon, Jordan James and Matty Ashurst - the future is rosier than I thought after seeing us humbled by Leigh last month.
On top of all that we have a team that appears to want to play for each other and the coaching staff - and that for me is the most optimistic sign of all so far this year!
