After hard consideration ive decided that after the goings on "yet again" at the club i love and spend my hard earned cash at i wont be attending anymore games untill something is sorted out, it has'nt been an easy desicion but the club has had a week to come out and say something to reassure us fans and give us something to chew on rather than making us yet again the laughing stock of Rugby League..
I have supported Salford through thick and thin and travelled everywhere to watch them 96-16 at Bradford just being one humiliation, i can live with that but when the club treats you like they have with us this week ive had enough.
Good luck to all that attend the forthcoming games just hope your money is well spent.... a014.gif

JM - Not trying to have a go at you, but I really don't follow your logic...

Clearly the club are in some kind of employment dispute with one senior coach

They are in a sickness-absence issue with another

These are internal matters for the club and as fans/customers/voyeurs I can't see why we should be told the gory details - there are massive financial/legal implications if the club were to make a mistake in these sorts of proceedings.

Sorry, but as a Salford fan, I'll jus carry on supporting the team and look for a good performance on Saturday, beating the Bulls

Well said BF, at last a sensible and very accurate assessment of the current situation at the club - HR issues like these are damned complicated and need sensitive handling in every organisation if court/tribunal proceedings are to be avoided, what most organisations don't have to bother with, however, is the whole scenario played out in front of the media and the ridiculous speculation, sensationalism, rumour and untruths that come along with it. The club is taking its time and not commenting, which is exactly how it should be.

JM, clearly, you must follow your heart, but it seems to me that the players and the club need us more now than ever, this is a time to be there for the club and let them know just what a fantastic, loud and proud set of fans we really are.

J.M Its your choice fella as to what you want to do, but remember that managers and players come and go, but us fans will always be there through the good and the bad times. As Smithy says " KEEP THE FAITH".

Fair comments. Can't say I blame you. A simple statement from the club confirming Alker 'had been sent home and that there would be no further comment' would have been enough in this situation however it seems even that is too much to expect.

If everyone did that the club would fold - why not voice your diaproval in a more constructive manor. I do not like the situation as every true fan doesnt but if you desert now then we dont have a future. keep the faith things will change....simples

Maybe he/she has heard this mantra one too many times without anything really actually changing? I can understand why as I'm in a very similar state of mind at the minute.

Like i said, ive not took the decision easily but feel like the club are making mugs out of all us fans. Ive been there for them through the good times as well as the bad and this time just feel now that im older i cant do it anymore..... we get all the usual after match press conference that the training went well and that the team spirit is great etc etc........

I know exactly how Jim M feels, as this Jim made a similar decision a while back. Infact, I only went to around 3 games last year and have not even been yet this season.
And here's where I have to be brutally honest ........... I have not missed attending in the least.
I simply can no longer watch the team take one hammering after another. It hurts too much.
I think the watershed for me was Catalan away when we got pasted. It just seemed to spiral from there. I know I've missed some good moments, not many, but probably worth being there for. My decision, my loss.
The place the club is at now is very very similar to that time in France, and I know how all Salford fans are currently feeling.
Those who are sticking it out have my admiration, and to those who have had enough I completely understand.
Best wishes to all.
Col

So what your basically saying is you dont care what happens to the club? FFS get a grip - we are going through a bumpy final season but weve been thro worse times. There are many positives to look forward to and if two defeats and abit of internal politics make you turn your back to the club well it beggers belief. I cannot understand the thought process of some loyal supporters....

I don't understand some of these comments about not getting a statement from the club re the Alker situation. Simms spoke about the situation after the Cas game on the radio and his comments were printed in the Manchester Evening News. This appears to be a legal matter and I'm sure the club are taking advice from their legal people about not commenting further on the matter. They are obviously in a no position to tell us supporters anything more than we already know.

To me these comments seem more to do with frustration and wanting the matter rersolved, despite the club obviously being in no position to sort it out quickly. Sh*t happens sometimes and you just have to grin and bear it.

Was it not a very similar situation with Wigan and Martin Gleeson?

I don't think any of it was meant the way you took it.

There are many Loyal fans who have invested bucket-loads of cash, time, and effort for decades. I don't think any one of the sensible posters on here are blowing the current situation out of proportion, they are simply sick and tired of seeing the same niggles, internal politics and poor resolutions crop-up over and over again. These kind of things will inevitably happen from time to time but the Club never seems to learn anything from their resolutions.

You need to be pretty thick-skinned to be a Salford supporter.

You need skin of iron to be a veteran Salford supporter.

I guess the constant, admittedly small, upsets off the pitch add-up over time to some supporters. They could probably forgive those mistakes if the Club was progressing in other areas such as on-field matters. What they see is a constant grey line of a Club just tottering along the same way for thirty plus years. When you make that lifetime commitment to your Club as a fan, thirty years of nothing really happening takes its toll.

Absolutely nailed it there pal. I could not have put it better myself.

JM, I respect your view and understand the points you are making, I am continuing to support my team home & away but I am starting to pick my games away from home, hopefully my blind faith will be rewarded tomorrow night.
