Not being funny but thats is slightly stupid to say the least? They do it on a regular basis haha.

Published in Stockport as part of the MEN stable, I think they just have trainee student journalists on board, looking at some of the stories in there most are copied from MEN or are sent by locals in certain area of the city. It is just a pity we as a city have a weekly paper of very poor quality, when a town on our border can produce a daily local paper in the Bolton Evening News.

Perhaps nothing ever happens here in Salford that is deemed newsworthy, normally they will only print bad news stories as well ignoring good news, BEN will print good and bad.

Maybe someone at the club (or even a fan?) could volunteer to submit Salford stories?

Perhaps if the club were to issue decent, regular press releases and accompanying photos there wouldn't be such a problem?

The Advertiser is a poor advert for a local newspaper, it was good, but not anymore since the MEN set up was reorganized.

On behalf of another local organization I can honestly say that despite several attempts to get anything,even a letter, published is impossible.

Only regular contributors appear to get any stories or letters published.

We also now have Neil Barker scoops at least twice a week now, did you know that we have signed Luke Patten several times in the last few weeks?

I thought the Big Society was supposed to help fill the gaps being left by cuts to the public sector rather than help the private sector look less incompetent.

To be fair, N Ireland water is still state owned. Although I could throw Railtrack, Heathrow, The Accident Group, Farepak and Enron into the mix.

State owned but run as a 'government company' - effectively a private company with the government as a shareholder. It's the first step towards full privatisation.

I seem to recall BP making a wee bit of a blunder last year too.
