Put a post on the other week advertising the growth of the local amateur game - and anyone who was at the Valentine Cup knows what a great entertainment games can be. I'm sure all our local clubs would love more people on the sidelines cheering them on. The first set of fixtures are out - if the thread becomes sticky I'll try and add them every week... I'll include Bury and Bolton as we've forum members playing for those two and they are on our doorstep.

We played a midweek friendly yesterday against Irlam A who are no mugs considering they're a new team Ok they had a few first teamers in, but full credit to them. Fortunately Folly A came out on top, with a 16-12 victory

Irlam only had two first team representatives in that game that played the final the week before... first time we had played together too, good outing for both sides...

the folly scrum half was a little though

going back a few years they were...but you never know with 2nd teams at this time of year. did they really have the numbers to run a 2nd team so will they turn up? if they have the numbers, because its early and not many injuries within the club you come up against people who could easily make their 1st team. first few weeks will be a lottery...

who's running things at Bolton now? I text Bingo t'other day and no reply....I want to sort out Grand Final day!

Rylands A are a well drilled team I've played against them the last couple of years when they've been in our Division, They're always very strong at home, spanked us twice in the last two years, but we've beat them at our place two years on the bounce. It all depends who turns up and who their first team picks IMO.

Chester played summer conference and are now playing through the winter season too... they were an 'ok' side but i fear there could of been 100 points against anyone half decent...

first time i had even met at least 10 players of that squad on saturday... a lotof them seldom have played rugby before... its going to be a steep learning curve for the 2nds this year but it can only get better from here
