| Salford City start their pre-season on Saturday 25th July ko 3:00 pm with a local derby at Irlam's Silver Street ground in the Salford Advertiser Trophy Final. Having won the innagaural Final last season the Ammies will be keen to retain the Trophy for another year.
With a trip to Warrington tomorrow I'm hoping for a double celebration this weekend!  |

Salford City retained the Salford Reporter Trophy with a comfortable 2-1 win against neighbours Irlam in a thoroughly entertaining contest. Despite the narrow scoreline the Ammies created enough chances throughout the game to have won by five or six with an outstanding debut performance from the returning Rhodri Giggs who was part of a 20 man Salford squad.

I was at the Irlam-Salford game. Both teams looked rusty and Salford deserved the win and should have won by more than just the one goal. Referee was very poor.
