| As no one has said it yet thought would be the first, think alker has been a great servent for the club, never a world beater, but he bleeds salford blood and loves this great club of ours, and think that since he lost his arm band things have gone from bad to worse, whether its the players responding to the clubs decision on that remains to be seen, I also feel for parker as i feel he dont deserve the abuse hes gettin from some fans at the min I would say lets give him back his armband and see how the team respond .
If we are still under performing after that; then lets look at the situation , lets not blame the coach or rob parker just yet.
Dispite what went on in florida, the guy has been fined and lost his armband, but belive its time to give it back.
Fans keep saying that no player is bigger than a club ? is this realy the case ? as its the players that make the club, all teams go through times of players not perfoming and you cant sack them all.
Will leave you to decide, yes or no.

| Would've been forgotten by now if Alker didn't keep bringing it up every week in the MEN/Advertiser/Sporting Life etc.

He has done the crime and this was his punishment. He has to understand there are harsh consequences for his actions (the same applies to others)
Well done to the club for remaining strong on this.
Barker should try to do some real reporting rather than the gossip and raking over old stories he tends to indulge in.

But would you not rather take a chance on alker, or leave things as they are ? as most people are blaming parker , alker , mcrea and simms, so do we get rid of all or some, still think we should give it back to alker as an easy option, if it dont work then we aint losing nothing, if it does then great.

Red willow as you say well done the club for standing by what they say, but remember the club is not always right, if they were we wouldnt be where we are now, this club has made lots of wrong decisions in the past, and some good. Would rather give alker the captaincy back and see how we go that get rid of most of the players and coaching staff, as many would like .

| No point caving in to Alker just on the off chance it will make things better, which it won't. Alker should stop bleating on about it, accept he was wrong and get on with improving the teams and his own performances.

| No definitely not!
The more I think about it, the more it seems as if Alker loves himself more than the club these days. Salford have been mediocre, and played in the same manner through out Alker's reign as captain. I know I've said it already, but we've tried changing the coach, the majority of the players and nothing seems to change.
Next on the hit list has got to be Alker followed by Simms and then Wilkinson. We need leaders who can set the inspiration for the players to follow. Someone is not doing their job as a leader.
When you talk about the easy option, unless we can get Peel to buy the club of John Wilky, Alker is the easiest one to replace.

| You have to be joking.
Remember it was not just Florida which forced the clubs hand on this.
My views are known on this.
Get Rid and quick before it gets any worse.

| The Board must be backed on this one and Alker has lost the badge.
However if the unrest re Malcolm continues personally I would go a lot further and move him on to Oldham on loan. Malcolm must tow the line and respect the Boards decision.

| After three thumping defeats where we have been blown away in the first 20 mins, It obvious the team have not worked hard enough or prepared themselves both physically and mentally in pre-season.
Lets also not lose sight of the fact that Alker was captain right up to the season starting, so in my view Alker was partly responsible as club captain for not getting the other players to train the house down over the winter.
I just feel sorry for Rob Parker because he seems to be taking all the flak from the fans despite not really wanting the job in the first place!
If the club back down and bring Alker back as captain it will send out the totally wrong message and make the players feel like they have the total running of the club, regardless of their indiscipline's.

| The board have to stay firm on this, it has to be one rule for all. Alker broke the rules and should be punished accordingly. What kind of message would it send to the younger players as well as the others if they capitulated to the demands of Alker or the fans, who don't know what happened exactly in Florida and who may misguidedly be supporting Alker.
It's time this whole episode was finished end of. Alker should stop bleating like a little kid, shut up and get behind Parker, as should the rest of the team.

| There is no proof that Alker being Captain will improve things in many ways it will make the situation worse. Consider the following
What sort of message will this send to the injured party, sorry you don't matter?
What has Parker done to deserve the sort of treatment you suggest, strip him of the captaincy because Alker has sulked for long enough?
What message will it send to the rest of the squad, behave how you like get a few fans on your side and complain loudly for months and all will be forgiven?
I don't think any employer takes the action the club did lightly, Alker should shut up and put up. parker should be given a chance by the few idiots who insist on booing him for having the job Grow up whoever you are.
Tall Red
I think it is about time you let this lie. Alker has disgraced himself (whether you agree or not) and it does the club no favours keeping it in the press and public eye. Your heart maybe in the right place but the time has come to get over it.
