| The discussion was split from the rlForever Reds meeting threadrl / Mods
Quote: billybradshawsmum "Just a reminder for meeting.
Friday or Sunday games to be discussed
Chase's visa issues
Oversea's quota
Anymore new signings
Players in Fans Bar, ie junior Reds given autograph books etc
Any other issues from Thursdays press conference
SOS update
If any other issues not here please feel free to suggest
Cheers'"
I think the Friday v Sunday matches should have a vote via Facebook. Maybe everyone who wants Fridays click like on a vote friday page and all those for Sunday click like for a vote sunday page.
The only reason I think this has to be the only way is 1 Salford have 9000+ potential fans they can contact via Facebook.
2.a lot of the regular forever reds members are part of the frday brigde anyway so will just bombard koukash with reasons they want it to stay Fridays.
LETS VOTE!

Difficult one as the vast majority of Salford fans on Facebook don't go to games and as scoot said it totally excludes people not on Facebook.

There's always someone to question things.
I don't know anyone who doesn't use it? Even Dr Koukash does. And I'm quite sure there isn't another 9000 people knocking about who go to games that arnt on facebook?
What's fairer a vote of opinion from 9000 people or the opinions of 20 people sat in Eccles club house?
I'm not being funny but if we really want the fabbasecto grow we need EVERYONE'S view on things.

I'm not being funny but how do you know how many Salford fans on facebook go to games? It's not really for you to say.
And you said it yourself the vast majority don't go (they might but just to back up my point) it might be the Friday night games that's the reason why they don't go? Have you ever thought of that?
By the way I'm not coming over in any nasty way, it's just hard to get your view across online without what your writing looking like your being funny, I'm not just to make that clear.

I'm not on Facebook. Is it fairer to ask 20 people who all go to games or involve 7,000 plus who have no intention of ever setting foot in Barton? And the decision isn't being made at FR, I'm guessing they are just canvassing opinion. The club need to make a decision based on all the evidence in front of them not some entirely unscientific poll on FB.

Fair point on people not attending because of match day and these people need to make this clear to the club as part of the wider discussion.
We have been averaging 2k home fans at homes this season and we have 9k on FB, clearly the vast majority on there aren't attending.

Again your being selfish, it's not about the 20 that already go weather it be Monday Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday, it's about attracting new fans! If potential new supporters are put off by Friday night games the. Surley that is a big problem for the club because let's face it its about new support, we need to be attracting around 8/9000 IMO to play with the big boys and low and behold we have that amount on facebook, ok maybe we have 2000 people who go now who arnt on facebook but if you combine that 2000 with 7000 new fans then were there. It's not about what you prefer do do before and after the game it's now about what potential new fans want and by the looks of it and the countless people on twitter facebook and even who txt in on bbc radio Manchester who want Sunday matches, we need to get the majority of potential NEW FANS views on this otherwise we could be at risk of being stuck on Fridays I from of 2500 Salford fans which isn't workable for Marwan as he's said previously.
Like I said more people might prefer Friday if so the so be it we should see a rise next year but if there's thousands who prefer Sunday then were cutting off our nose to spite our faces.
THINK OF THE BIGGER PICTURE!

United can only fit 75000 into old Trafford and I know for a fact they don't all come from Salford they come from all over the place.
Please can someone tell me how many Sunday fixtures in total united have this season??
Ill tell you 5 and you know how many clash with Salford games next year if we went to Sundays? Just 1!!!!!!!!

| Oh and Fridays might not clash with football but the flash with people's working hours. More and more people work nights nowerdays this means they simply cannot go to matches, what if one of the friday brigade lost his/her job and could only get shift work or night work and it meant not being able to watch your beloved Salford. I think you'd change your tune then?

The tv games for the second half of the season have yet to be announced so you can bet Utd will have a few more Sunday games than what are currently on the fixture list.
It's not really about going to the games either as sadly many people prefer to watch football in the pub than going to watch Salford when there is a clash.
Personally think with the location of the new stadium Sundays could be a better option but not too fussed if we stay on Fridays.

Bizarre post even by your normal standards and I'm not responding in full because I'm on my phone. In a nutshell I'm not saying people at FR will make the decision just that they'll be canvassed. Also, I couldn't give a monkey's toss when we play, nor have I suggested anything about what I prefer to do before and after games so I'm not sure where you've got that from. When this topic was discussed previously you went on about someone in your family who couldn't make games on a Friday due to work. In that case surely it's you who is being selfish, trying to frame the debate around what suits you?
There is no clear proof whatsoever that there are thousands of fans put off as they want us to play on Sundays. If there was I'd suggest playing on Sundays. In fact, games we've played on non-Fridays have been just as poorly attended. The idea that the game day is what stops people attending is simply not true. As another poster also mentioned the clash with football on Sundays will also damage crowds.
Our three highest average season attendances of the last 15 years have all been seasons in which we've played on Friday nights, odd that considering all these people desperate for Sunday rugby.

Ye but that's nowt to do with watching football over rugby that's to do with salford having a crap team for years, if we develop a decent side over the next few years people will jump on the bandwagon, but not if they can't go in the first place.
Like I said could Shirley ask Marwan if the club could put a vote on facebook for Fridays or Sundays, and may w people who are season ticket holders who don't have FB could do it via email? This really needs to be sorted because I really do believe theirs a big crowd outguess for Salford but I know for a fact it's not going to come on a Friday! I just know for a fact it isn't.

Yes and that family member changed shifts luckily for him, so me and all my family go to games, I'm talking other people in the same situations who don't get so lucky in work, how can you say me wanting games being played on a day everyone can go is being selfish?
I go in the Kersal club one game I could go because of holiday i offered everyone in the club my ticket but everyone in there either worked Friday nights or was put off by the rubbish public transport on a Friday night. All of them said they'd give it a go If they switched to sats or Sundays.
