For many of the local clubs the amateur scene is just underway ready for the summer so it's a perfect time to get involved with any of them!

There's Langworthy, Folly Lane, Cadishead, and Eccles in Salford with summer sides at either adult or junior level who will no doubt welcome players - and then ourselves in Bury, and also Mancunians and a new East Manchester set-up getting underway.

I'm sure people from those clubs can post their details but for everything on Bury Broncos go to www.burybroncos.co.uk - we're keen for anyone lcoal to be involved especially youngsters wanting to play! we are running:

open age
(see: www.pitchero.com/clubs/burybronc ... 12640.html)
a NEW U16s
(Yr 11s/Yr10s - www.pitchero.com/clubs/burybronc ... 33169.html)
U12s (Yr 7s/Yr 6s)
U10s (Yr 5s/Yr4s)
See: www.pitchero.com/clubs/burybronc ... 11848.html
and a training group for "cubs" (younger than 8 roughly)

Any interest - DM or use contact details on site!!!

Note: Langworthy and Irlam are still winter clubs at open age level and Eccles also run a winter open age team - sure they'd welcome support too!

Be a massivly sad day as the first game after Kenny's death. The lads will be fired up for it for sure.

If the hip allows it I'll play (or sit on the subs bench) for Mancunians.

Langworthy Reds are always welcoming of anyone wanting to get involved with the sport. We have kids training from the age of 4 all the way up to adults. We are looking to recruit specifically though for our under 8's (Year 3 Junior school) both players and coaches. Anyone wanting any further information about the club or getting involved at any level can either contact me on DM or visit the clubs website / twitter / facebook pages. For all junior teams it is pre-season so no better time to get yourself or someone you know involved

Eccles Rugby League run teams at Cubs (3-5 yrs), Under 7s, 8s, 9s, 11s, 13s and 18s - as well as two open age sides. The open age first team play in the RFL Tier 3 National Conference League (Division 1), which is the highest amateur level available at present. We also have a second open age team which operates in the North West Mens League at the Tier 4 level. All of these teams operate in the summer period which runs from the beginning of March to October/November. We currently have a winter team operating within the North West Counties League. For further information about the Roosters and their Club, follow the link at www.ecclesrugbyleague.co.uk. Contact to the club can be made by DM on this forum or via our website. As with all the local clubs, volunteers and new or returning players are most welcome!

All the amateur clubs in the Salford area are excited by the recent change of fortune at Salford City Reds - and look forward to it having a really great impact on our local amateur game.

Have a look at Bury Broncos. They play/train not far from the Alty-Bury tram line.

Hi mate,

Mancunians train Monday nights 6.30 at Hough End playing field on the Chorlton/Withington border. We had the first training of the year last week. From Alty you can get the met to St Werburghs Road, then it's a 10 minute walk, or you can get the bus up Princess parkway, the Journey Planner on the TFGM website should help you with that.

www.pitchero.com/clubs/mancuniansrl/location/

We play in the lowest of the North West Mens leagues, it's definitely open to new players.

Hopefully see you there mate.

Just to throw into the mix here - I am one of the coaches at Leigh Miners Rangers Ladies (openage 16+) and we are always on the lookout for new players (brand new or experienced welcome).
The team have been formed just over 2 years now and last season we won the Womens RL Plate final at the Stobart Stadium, Widnes.

If any ladies are interested, please DM me or send me a tweet @mikewatt1983 for info on training days/times/venue.

Quote: ChorltonRed "Any advice on best clubs to take a mad keen 5 year old to for some junior league sessions. He's done some rugby tots sessions but that's union so want to get him out of that as soon as
I know the more established teams in the Salford area (Langworthy, Eccles, Folly Lane) would be able to accomodate your child and have age groups where he(?) could attend. Not sure on others though i'm afraid.

If you want any further information about any of it, let me know and will help you out. He would be more than welcome to come down to Langworthy where i am at.
