| Not got much knowledge on the drinking holes immediately around our new stadium...well apart from the ones at Chill Factore and The Trafford Centre so whose going where?
Gonna be weird next year, looking forward to a change of scenery though.

| The Grapes, Unicorn, and St Mikes on Liverpool road are all about a 20 minute walk.
St Mikes is con club style.
The Unicorn is a massive pub but a bit dearer than the others, i think they have live bands/music on Friday's. I could be wrong.
Grapes is an Holts's what more can i say.

| I live 5 mins on the bus from the new stadium towards irlam and cadishead and know that the new lounge at Barton Airport have recently "done up" the bar and if im not mistaken its called the Airfield Lounge, and would be a great place for a meeting point, as its opposite the ground. Funny how they have just refurbished the place, so soon before the new season, so maybe a place to think of.

| Isn't it likely that the bar at the airport is going to be for members of the flying club and not very casual attire friendly??
Would hope that at some point someone like a Weatherspoons or a Beefeater opens a place, there was talk a while back of a Harvester wic again would give the whole experience a more a family friedly feel.
One factor that is a bit of an unknown is what traveling back towards Eccles will be like after the game if you have a drink, let's hope that enough people filled in the travel questionaire and that someone takes notice and ensures that public transport is provided.

| Grapes is a big four roomed Holts pub consisting of a vault , 2 rooms on the best side and a games room at the back , my former local of 16 years.
St Mikes and The Unicorn are ok if you like keg beer and lager.
The golf club further up Barton Stretch is members only unless you pre book for a meal.Keg Thwaites on offer from what I can remember.
The airport bar I go past everyday , I `ll call in and ask about the membership , car parking etc.

| The airport bar is open to all, there is no longer any flying club at Barton, Lancashire Aero Club departed some years ago after Peel took over the airport.
However, the choice of beer is a bit "keggy" and it's not a very big place and certainly on a sunny sunday afternoon when there's a good bit of flying it does get crowded.
The car park is barrier entry and charges for anything over, I think, half an hour
Details of the cafe/bar are here rlhttps://www.theairfieldlodge.co.uk/rl
The airport as a whole is here rlhttps://www.cityairportltd.com/rl

| Think my pre match watering holes will consist of the Grapes, Unicorn and St Mikes. Apart from the airport club, St Mikes is the closest to the ground and all are walking distance from my house

| A crawl down from the Cock via the Gilbert, Bridgewater, Barton Arms and through Winton (not sure what's there nowadays though, I imagine it's prime pub closure territory since I spent time near there 10 years ago)
