| Could be worse but probably means no top 8 finish. Am disappointed that this year's players and coaches are being punished for previous errors but the same the breaks

| Id say we're still 3 wins better than hkr and wakey, and Leeds on current form but I expect them to improve. We still have a chance. But clearly cup is best chance
I hope we don't appeal, take our punishment and move on

| Despite the dissapointmemt I quite enjoy championship grounds and to dump Leigh back into the championship might be quite pleasing especially with all the ex salford lads in there. All I can say is it could of been worse.

| we all know we have been singled out, cannot have Huddersfield & Leeds sitting at the bottom. Take the punishment even if all other clubs found guilty have either had 2 or 4 points deducted in the past.
Mr Koukash take a close look at the other super league teams, learn the lesson of being discreet, talk with Wigan & Catalans ask them for some tips.
I hope the coaching staff turn this negative into a positive by motivating the players, onwards & upwards.

| It could have been worse yes but where's the parity? Wigan and Bradford have been found guilty twice. Did they get deducted 6 points? No they didn't but we do on the first offence. It stinks. Still our players arent getting cited every week now so they have to find another way to throw a spanner in the works.

Salford Red Devils have been found guilty by an independent tribunal of breaching the RFL Operational Rules and Salary Cap Regulations concerning contractual arrangements made with three players in 2014 and 2015.
The tribunal, chaired by His Honour, Judge Peter Charlesworth, found that Salford had committed a serious breach of the rules including exceeding the finite salary limit of £1.825 million in 2014. As a result the tribunal decided that the club should be fined £5000 and deducted six points. The points deduction will be imposed immediately.
The tribunal also found Salford not guilty of a number of offences concerning contractual arrangements with two players.
The club have 14 days from receipt of the written reasons for the decision in which to lodge an appeal.

| A bit unlucky.
I think 4 points would have been more appropriate, but perhaps your Chairman's tweets might have not helped the cause.
2001 - Wakefield Trinity - Salary Cap Breach - 2 points
2003 - Halifax - Salary Cap Breach - 2 points
2003 - Hull - Salary Cap Breach - 2 points
2003 - St Helens - Salary Cap Breach - 2 points
2006 - Bradford - Salary Cap Breach - 2 points
2006 - Wigan - Salary Cap Breach - 2 points
2007 - Bradford - Salary Cap Breach - 2 points
2007 - Wigan - Salary Cap Breach - 4 points
2011 - Wakefield Trinity - Administration - 4 points
2011 - Crusaders - Administration - 4 points
2012 - Bradford - Administration - 6 points
2013 - Salford - Fielding Extra Man - 2 points
2014 - Bradford - Administration - 6 points

You're 3 wins better than us at Cas mate the way we performed against HKR.
On a more serious note what happens now? as some have already said the sensible way forward would be to take the 6 point deduction and crack on. The worst scenario would be the middle eights and I can't see you having any problems coming through them and I doubt if attendances would suffer much.
The problem is Marwan has once again put his foot in it by saying (I think) that he would go to war with the RFL if points are deducted. Does he go ahead and get the club in more trouble or does he back track and lose face?
At least you should get through to the next round of the CC te way we are playing which should help to pay off the fine.

| Regardless of what happens on the field, this is going to be a bigger disaster off it.
Koukash has gone off on another rant on twitter blasting the RFL and has retweeted tweets implying the Catalan Dragons are also breaking the salary cap and they should be investigated.
I wonder what potential sponsors and possible corporate hospitality guests make of the club now?

| Those 4 points we could/should have picked up against Wigan and Wire looking costly now. We can still make the 8 but would take a massive effort and a level of consistency for the remaining games that we tend to struggle for. 3 wins from the next 4 games is now imperative and let's see where we stand then.

| Normally I leave your opinions to one side, SM, as many are less a half-empty pint but a whinge about the glass as well. However, in this case can we not have a bit of reality? There are parts of the tribunal that have gone in our way. We are very capable of winning the "mid-eights" (allowing for injuries). Carney has signed for us (as you said AND I DOUBTED). In my estimation, it could have been a lot worse.
As for potential sponsors (etc.), show them an opportunity to market their goods and services and we could be running a club based on Games of Thrones ethics. I doubt they'll be put off by the chances to make money, save taxes, and build business links. All we have to do is to present those possibilities.

| More than deserved 6 point deduction. We actively sought to break the salary cap by executing backhanded agreements which were only brought to light once said agreements weren't paid. After the costs of settling Puletua's tribunal, the associated legal fees and now the £5k fine, 6 point deduction and associated legal fees in preparing a defence I bet Marwan is wishing he paid Puletua's £48k second year instalment as he did with the year one instalment.
It's more frustrating that this current group of players are facing the consequences of poor administration from 2014 on players who weren't worth the contracts they were signed up on.
I'm just glad it's done and we can move on.
