| Ok some of the fans on here will agree and disagree with the points i am going to make particular the ones i make about our chairman Mr JW.
1. We are going to be a struggling club for a least another 3 years, reasons:
A: The players we have signed this year on 2-3 years deal are not good enough and as a club we can not afford to pay them off and recruit new better younger players.
B: The signings we are making for 2012 are (apart from Moon who's injured) very average particular in a key role (prop), James and Gledhill. The lack of go forward and tempo of our go forward is key for our halves to be playing on the front font and the man reason top teams get results, with our average front rowers this is going to be very difficult.
C: Our Head Coach, don't think he knows the SL game and systems remarks he has made about Ratchford leaving ??? why is this wrong, we was foolish enough not to renew his contract last year or the year before last! This gun hoe attitude only last for a limited time. He is totally unproven, people compare him to mcguire at Wigan that is so wrong Mcguire was in the melbourne storm system for around 5 years and was currently employed by Melbourne. Parish was unemployed and reports from the players he is unapproachable also heard on the grape vine he likes to 'socialise' a lot this is not very professional. Sean Long coming in, unproven coach, yes good player doesn't mean good coach far from it. Name all the world class ex players head coach of any SL clubs ( i know he is not going to be head coach BTW).
2: Board, management etc:
A: Chairman thank you so so so much for the years it is now time to stand down i think your understanding of running a SL club is to old fashioned and not enough rugby savvy for this modern era.
B: Simms needs to go poor signing after signing after signing i could put a whole topic on the reasons why he needs to go.
C: Tarry the CEO needs to go same reasons for point A:
We need to bring an ultra smart modern sports minded CEO to deal with contracts and running of a professional organisation. We need to replace Steve simms with an ex modern player to deal with all non playing matters like the NRL have a football manager, cater for players off field needs, happy people, happy players, better performances. This role will not deal with contracts this will be left to the shrewd CEO.
Marketing full clean slate of people unprofessional today and the past 5 years have proven time and time again shoddy match day experience, advertising etc.
2. New Youth coaches Lee Spencer i think in charge of the u20's if its the same one i have encountered in the local amateur game, this is very worrying. Same
3.Conditioning staff, all need to go, unfit, weak and over weight.
All of these problems will be solved in 2 very good appointments a new CEO and Chairman!
I know some will discredit my remarks but being a paying season ticket customer i just want to raise my points.
NEW STADIUM, NEW STAFF, NEW ERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| On the grape Vine!! If everything that "I've heard on the grape vine" was true we'd either be best team in world or worst ever!! Name this so called grape vine! While I agree with the comments about the signings, apart from Moon no inspiring at all! Us supporters of this club are always so fickle! I respect everyones opinions & mine is if we give MP the backing he will get it right, if not we will continue to struggle and be battling for the wooden spoon. Just one more thing I totally agree with. Why are we giving these journeymen players 3 year contracts?! MP's hands are bound to be tied because of this policy. MP has my full backing! We have to get Tudor the dead wood ie Feka, Anderson but who will take on their wages & contract lengths?

| Quick question that I have no idea about, if Media City are to be shirt sponsors next season surely we'll get some decent income/marketing/exposure as part of that?

| I think JAW would readily stand down if a man with means offered him a deal. Where is that man though?
Personally feel that we need a complete clear out and a new image. Gary Cook is available and maybe he can attract a Sheikh or Sheckel or two.
Unless crowds double at Barton I fear for the franchise renewal in 3 years time.
The personnel we have though is not good enough for us to compete with the best.
I am still on the fence with MP. I have not seen much difference on the field and our tactics havent varied. In fact at the moment I am a tad disappointed and the MP hype is well overdone.
If the Sidlow/Adamson stories are true - which seems the case then imo in recruiting an ordinary prop in Gledhill and a 31 year old journeyman is a backward step. In Sidlows case we have ALL seen the potential yet MP has used him for just 40 minutes!

Make sure you take those 10,000 supporters with you that attended today, where did they all come from?
I wonder if it was good marketing, if so a big clearout might be a mistake.

| How are we still talking about Sidlow's potential?! He has been in the first team for 4 years! Age doesn't even come in to it! He doesn't run his size at all, if he did then I think he'd be up there with the best in SL! That isn't a coaches fault that's because the guy doesn't have the heart to run at the defence! If he had the heart of Boyle he'd be a sensation but he hasn't! That's nothing to do with MP. I'm not just singling him out because the same could be said about several others. As for the other signings I seem to remember most of us being very underwhelmed by Sean Gleeson but I think he's been one of our stand out players when fit. It is only my opinion and very possibly I'm talking sh*te but there you go! If we all unite negus the coach then who knows?

I've always believed that there are a good 10,000+ Salford fans... Unfortunately... They never all turn up to the same games.
I saw a lot of faces that I haven't seen for years at the game today... I just hope they can be persuaded to come back next season.

You may well be correct in your analysis - BUT - in saying the chairman should stand down etc do you not understand where the finance for this club comes from and who actually pays the bills?
Stand down?
Who is going to step in?
Answers on a postcard please to Salford City Reds, Barton Stadium

Absolutely correct Barton Flyer.
The sooner Weasty, Wardley & lancetodd realise that the better. As I said above JAW would readily stand down if that man can be found.
Until then we must be grateful that John has allowed us to watch Super League with Salford - no other way of putting it really.

| how this is another post that makes me laugh / cringe! Really as an outsider if one read the origional post one would conlude he/she hit the nail on the head! Only thing I am of the wrong opinion is regard MP?!? He has gone from coaching the best RL game annualy in the SOO to coming to Salford, whom amonsgt their ranks have over weight, ill motivated and as real it seems talentless players! I for one can give it to him as a culture shock! Bind him time as let him see what he can do! As for the Wilky love fest from what I heard tonight he is ready to go and is actively looking to relase the club from his hands! And in his words he will be approaching people or let them approach them in the near future! As a man I think a lot of Salford fans will defend him as he has pumped a lot of money in the club and keep us afloat as people like to distinct! However as a chairman when he continually employes the wrong people time after time, surely people must ask questions? In my time supporting SCR he has only made 3 good head coach employments, Andy Greg, Karl Harrison and although unproven MP. SS under his tenure is stealing a wage and after him being peed as a fart in the club tonight it obvious he is stealing a wage! Under JW tenure we have had no decent marketing? Stratergy? decent back room appointments? Whilst people's opions on this website are "swayed" due to their apparent friendship with the afor mentioned Mr Wilkinson whislt he has invested sincerley out of his own pocket as a chairman he has failed. If we had some self styled football billionaire, would you think JW would be still employed after poor management and everything that goes behind prossefional sports club? (For all those perfectionst out there one will note my spelling hasn't been what it should be tonight! One would hope "use" will give me slack as I have been on the strong stuff since 11 bells )

Anybody with half a brain cell would realise that the club needs wealthy new investors to take us to the next level.
The existing board of directors have been immensely loyal and provided all the financial backing they can afford to allow us to punch above our weight for many years now. I’m sure they would gladly step aside for the greater good of this club if the right person/people wanted to invest big money into making Salford a future force in Superleague. The problem is no investors have been forthcoming so why be so critical of the people that have continually put their hands in their pockets to make Salford stronger than the revenue it generates? I wonder how some detractors would react to endless, ignorant, criticism if you were the one’s digging as deep as they have over many years?
I find it quite amusing how some folk think they have all the answers when they are only observing from afar. I suppose it’s instinctive to want to blame somebody/something but I’d suggest looking at the wealthy Salfordians who don’t sponsor or financially support their local club or their local community before the one’s that do.
No JAW Chairman + No New Investors = No Salford RLFC
Think about it?
