| Were the only 2 players who left the pitch straight after the final whistle and didn't say thank you to the fans, I guess that is a sign they're definitely leaving. Poor show. Big shame as they were the best 2 players on the pitch tonight. We need some decent signings next year, and plenty of them!

| To quote Phil Veivers on the club site:
"We're losing our one, six and seven and that's the spine of your team. It would be great to try and fill these empty positions."
Is this the first official admission that Holdsworth is leaving?

| Quote: Derek Smalls "To quote Phil Veivers on the club site
Surely we all knew Holdsworth was on the way out ?
Veivers (Phil ), was referring to Josh Veivers , Holdsworth & Howarth,
Patten ( retired )
Gleeson ( Hull KR )
Moon ( in Dispute? wants back to NRL with Cronulla )
Holdworth ( Hull FC )
Smith ( Wigan mid season )
Anderson ( released)
Adamson ( released )
Veivers ( released ? )
Howarth ( released ? )
Paleaaesina ( released )
probably more as we seem to be offloading any squad member officially out of contract or able to negotiate their way out of existing deals.
Of the backline only Gibson & Williams have extended their contracts so we've got to find a SL standard 1,3,4,6,7 for next season and strengthen other areas . and thats ignoring rumours about Broughton with St Helens.
Fages, Walne, Morris, Evalds,Whitehead from the U 20's look fantastic prospects but will be steamrollered if thrown in as 1st choices for 2013,

| My honest opinion of Holdsworth, is hit and miss. Tends to blow cold more than he blows hot. Now the easy solution to that is he has been playing behind a beaten pack so that is maybe why. Rarely takes the line from my recollection. Along with Smith who has left us for the lofty heights of Wigan he does not have a good kicking game. Last night I accept he put a couple decent bombs up but what surprised me more, he managed to actually kick goal attempts!!! I'd doubt he'd be your kicker next season with Tickle so you be fine. May prove to be a success at Hull, dependent on how your pack fronts us, it was there to see in the Exiles game, Holdsworth on his day can be a class player. If you asking for his main abilities I'd say passing and support play, which may well compliment with Chase, let him to the kicking and taking the line on.

| Holdsworth will have been playing well as did with us when first came, got himself a big contract and then dissappeared for a couple of seasons, this season he has made a few appearances notibly when on TV or playing against Hull, his kicking game is very poor, and his goal kicking has cost us a few games this year where we have outscored the opposition in tries but still lost. He may play well behind a big pack, this season we have had lots of injuries to first choice players and when he has been asked to step up he has generally failed to do so.

| Massively disappointed that Holdsworth is leaving. Will certainly make McRea look good at his job as Director of rugby by fetching in a good player.
I cannot understand why the coaching pair made such an effort to retain Smith but have appeared silent on this.Perhaps the bargaining tools don't exist - or they can understand his reasons for wanting to go.
My player of the year - despite different half-back partners;a captain and loose-forward who spends long minutes off the field leaving DJ with all the work, all the thinking, guiding, plotting and prompting.
Excellent piece in the Matchday programme last night covering the creating of 21 tries - 20% of all tries.
The number of tackles made and how they compare with 2 players at the world champions.DJ makes an average of 22 per game;4th highest at the club
The lack of metres gained was highlighted to demonstrate the difficulties he has encountered.
His points total last night takes him to over 450 points for Salford. ( Stat Attack page - no name to thank !)
Shame to see him go.
Former half-back Peter Gentle will certainly enjoy having an easier life.
Did I miss Sean Long engaging with the fans at the end of the game ?

| Good post sea-diver.
Holdsworth will be an excellent signing for Hull. He will see the benefit of not being behind a beaten pack week in week out. From the limited times I've seen your team he will be an important addition, just don't trust him with your goal kicking!

| Middleman. You've missed Adam Files out of your list of U20's who could step up. I'd like to see him replace Howarth who seems to have done very little since he got his contract

list from U 20's was not comprehensive , Jack Holmes , Jon Ford and Will Hope I could have added as well as Adam Files , Files as Hooker has Godwin/ Owen to get past. either way it will be a big step up for them if they do progress to 1st team squad
