It should, you're right. But I can't understand why a Swinton fan would be so eager to come on here to break the news? Then again, looking at your posts elsewhere that have been outed, I can work it out...

Anyway, enough of you, more important things to worry about.

I'm really sorry to hear this news (I saw it on Twitter). I had no idea the club were seeking a loan. I thought there was a takeover deal in the wings. It would appear not.

I hope something can be worked out.

There is genuinely no malice meant......this decision has consequences for all sports in Salford. On many occasions i have said I have a number of good friends who support Salford and for their sake I hope a resolution can be found.

Gutted.

It was always inevitable, especially after all the political sword-waving these last few weeks. Can see both sides of the argument, but it doesn't help the feeling of seeing my historic Club on its knees about to be put out of its misery, as anything more than someone kicking me in the nads.

The Club's been in my Family as far back as I can remember and it leaves me hollow to think it may never be there anymore.

This could signal the end of the club in its current incarnation. But not necessarily Salford RLFC. This could actually make the/a club a more attractive proposition for investment. One that will struggle to attract help from the Council, however. And one, if they want to be petty, won't be able to pay at the SCS (or at least pay full rent).

Have to say I'm struggling to see how Chico. Regardless of the failure to get the new loan (and I presume Peel won't be interested as they were only going to match the council funding) the current incarnation of Salford Football Club (1914) Ltd still has massive debts to the council (amongst others) and faces the winding up petition in January?

At least Sale RU got a shiny new stadium out of it.

In rejecting the additional loan and the matched loan from Peel , the Council will be the proud owner of 6 Riley paintings ***of the bad debt ,

If we exist as a professional sports club we won't be so much linked with Olham we'll be playing with them if we're lucky , if we're unlucky ?

It's down to appauling managment that's who to blame they just expected to live by taking more debt instead of looking for a buyer its been ran crap for years and poor marketing only the owners to blame for this
