In the last week Wigan put adverts on TV, Radio and full page in a free newspaper for the Huddersfield game, last season the attendance for this match was 13619, played in August on a Sunday. Tonight it attracted a crowd of 19169 a rise of 5550 or 40.75% on last season, so does telling people about your game and building it up work?

so that was good for the travelling fans only a tenner, or was it just for the Wigan fans and not the "away" end. But even with that I reckon they made about £70,000 on last years take. |

Great effort by Wigan.
However, a 40% rise would take our 3.5k (my guesstimate of our Hudds-at-home crowd) to 5k.
I don't have the figures, but I'd fancy Wigan's outlay on this big marketing push somewhat eclipsed the revenue that 1.5k extra fans (on cheap tickets) would bring us.

A taxi driver said that he heard we've got Cas on Friday because he's heard it on the radio. I put him in his place, but he wasn't having any of it. Very very poor. |
