Strong rumours on our fans forum that we are moving to the Willows for the 2011 season.Does anyone know anything? and what are the long term plans for the willows once you have moved to Barton?

Last I heard, once the Variety Centre goes, the land is going to be used to build housing for nurses at Hope. That was a couple of years ago when the plans for the stadium were first released so anything could have changed since then!

Hmm I suppose it's a possibility and ironic in a way, as it'll be our last at the Willows, and the last as a rugby stadium for the Willows, and yet the two teams who played the first game there will again be using the same field!
The last I heard it was going to become key worker housing as soon as we move out, so I doubt it would be a permanent thing for Swinton. |

Might even nip down to watch them now and again if they're at (our) home and we've no game.

Yeah its true I'm sorry to say, Swinton at the willows next year. I must say I'm gutted I know they're not a threat anymore, but i seriously dislike the bitter blue s.

I spend a lot of time with Swinton fans and they're so bitter towards Salford its unreal in fact I've never known a set of rugby league fans as bitter as Swinton fans. The amount of abuse (not banter, out and out abuse) i've had off Swinton fans my feeling towards them are fully justified. Nowt against the actual team, infact I'd quite like them to do well, but their fans on the other hand ![]()
My personal experience of Swinton fans (I've only ever had a conversation with one. He's a mate of a certain supporter who is invariably referred to as 'Steve') is that they're bitter towards Salford but seldom go beyond the whinging stage, let alone become abusive. But that's only my experience.
Mate, if they do become abusive towards you, do what I do and ask them to look in a mirror and describe how they feel about themselves. Mate, if they're not balling their eyes out at their pitifully embittered existence I'd be shocked.  Aaaaand, you won't get grief on the Turkey!
