| Koukash has just put on twitter that we have sold less than 3000 tickets for the first game, thats including season tickets. If Im honest id have expected atleast close to double that by now. Where are we going wrong ???

People simply don't feel any urgency to buy. I know plenty who will definitely be going but will buy tickets the week of the game - if they don't need to buy it now, they won't. They have another pay day between now an the game.
Ironically, posturing about how little we've sold is less likely to make people think "ooh, I better make sure I get mine - I'll buy now."

| I think we need to be positive but realistic. We are a long way ahead of where we were last year at this time!
People will but tickets on the day and in the weeks leading up to the match. I read the tweet from MK about sales and it was just an honest reply to a question. Nothing hysterical at all.
The attendances will build if the team performs and we start winning home games regularly. A lot of fans will only watch a winning team and will reserve judgment until they see results. This is what will move us on to the next level crowd wise. Thats just the way it is!
This preseason has been great. All the c**p we moaned about in previous times has been addressed - communication, open days, early season tickets, shirts, squad ..... It's all positive. We will have better crowds than last year and it will be interesting to see where we are next year.
So let's not get jumpy about ticket sales etc and just look forward to an exciting season.

| Well if that is the case (<3,000) then it a kick in the teeth for Marwan. Unless we see a huge walk up (& no doubt more criticism of the Ticketing system @ Barton) it would hit the Doctor hard. Is it worth the effort for him? Come on - still time for the people of Salford to say thank you to the Chairman.

Ken Gill could make the ball talk.: |
|
| At a Forever Reds meeting Niel Wood said the club was trying to persuade the Stadium Company to open cash turnstiles on game days. I am sure cash turnstiles would help everybody - shorter queues for tickets om match days being the obvious advantage. It could also help attract the casual fan who may become a regular fan.
I've not heard any more about the idea but I hope the club can persuade the Stadium Company to adopt the idea. Cash turnstiles at the two standing ends and in an unreserved seating area could only help.

| people are traditionalist and cant be bothered booking seats through ticketmaster , im lucky im on bartons doorstep but getting here from lower broughton or kersal is a mare , people will turn up on the night im convinced of that , get there ticket and have a pint in the fans bar , the friendly results may have a bearing on peoples perception of where the team are , especially if wire play a strong side and we compete with them

| I haven't yet bought tickets for the two friendly games ( Leigh - Warrington ), doesn't mean I'm not going...
concur that lots of people who haven't yet bought tickets will be going ,they just haven't bought the tickets yet .
The 6 tickets / 6 programs for £100 deal isn't on Ticketline
the Flexible 4-7 game season pass deal isn't on Ticketline
the £15 + pint deal ..... etc
This along with the cash turnstile need addressing ,
still 27 odd days to go before the match most people who may be enticed may not even know about deals which the club have launched but aren't visible / accessible from the site.
frankly I'm getting sick of being told off ...

| I don't think it's a negative or a telling off.
We need capacity attendances to attract top players.

| Is this even news worthy? There's weeks to go before the game and we've got two more fixtures before hand. As has already been said, most peor won't buy until the week before or even on the day. Let's stop stressing about attendances, eh?
I think we're where we should be at the moment. You won't attract fans until you're playing half decent, it's one thing buying a good team but another delivering on the field.
Let's have this discussion at the end of 2014.

Salary cap - you're havin a laugh.: |

| People will buy them in the week leading up to the game as usual. Not sure why anyone would have expected us to have sold 6000 a month in advance of the game. Think some of us are getting slightly carried away.

| Think someone needs to sit the Doc down and explain how the sales will more than likely go this season. Plenty of walk ups which will increase if the team starts off well.
You'd also think that when the better weather hits that we'll shift more tickets to families.
Talking of the weather we also have that to contend with, there's sure to be a hurricane, earth quake or plague of locust on the day.

Same person who started this thread was asking Koukash to confirm a 'rumour' we'd sold 9k. Barmy.
Agree with all the other posters who have said this isn't even a story. I'm again inclined to view it as good news that we've already shifted more for this year's game v Wakefield than we did for last season's match against the same club.

| As much as I love Koukash and am appreciative for everything he's done, some of his Twitter 'rants' are bordering on cringe worthy!
To moan about the amount of tickets sold 4 weeks before the actual match and before we've played a single game is silly IMHO.
We are one of the worst supported clubs (in terms of numbers) in Super League! So to expect the crowds to dramatically increase just because we've made a few signings is barmy!
30+ years of apathy will not be wiped out overnight! It's just not that easy!
