| Does anyone know exactly when the new roads are being put in near the stadium? I ask because I was speaking to a group of lads in Manchester city centre last night after the game and they were talking about Salford, they've all been to the stadium once or twice but their main concern was the traffic congestion getting out of the stadium, they said they'd definitely go again as its a fantastic stadium and things are looking up at Salford but they just dont think waiting 2 hours in a car park after the game is on. Hope this problem gets sorted soon as this isn't the only time I've heard people not going to games because of traffic congestion

| I think this getting out of the stadium is being over done. It is true there are delays but no more than getting out of Huddersfield, Wigan and St Helens. I live in Bolton and have never been home afetr 11pm for an evening game and that's after dropping a friend off in Salford. Improvement needed but not the major problem being touted.

| Got a cab home from the game last night and was in Eccles less than 15 minutes after the game finished.
One thing I think should be looked at when the infrastructure is finished if the Doc buys a stake in the ground is to use it as a park and ride. Sure you could get a venture going with GMPTE for buses into Manchester and the canal would be a wonderful resource to getting people too and from the city not only during the week but say from Salford Quays on a game day.

| Twice ive been to the SCS this season ive parked on Eccles Rugby and walked. Its a bit of a walk and there are few signs to say if you are going the right way, luckily we guessed right but one or two signs wouldnt go a miss.
I dont find the stadium that hard to get away from, no longer waiting time than anywhere else when you dont use official stadium based car parks.
A park and ride scheme from the City Centre or from round the area would be a great idea

For a park & ride there would either need to be a train/tram link to Manchester or an express bus that could beat the traffic, and I'm not sure where they could route a bus to avoid congestion.
When the stadium was first mooted on this site a few of us joked about a booze cruise from the Quays or town - howver there are two significant stumbling blocks. 1 - Mode Wheel Locks: which can take half an hour to get through and 2 - the lack of a landing stage near the stadium. If you look at the plans for Port Salford the land between the stadium and the canal will have railways lines built on it and be used as a turning point for freight trains.

| I dont find getting away from the stadium a problem???? once u get past the toss jockeys who stand in front of the car park exit blocking the way, , the traffic lites are easy they change to green u go, but u have got to be let out of the car park first and that is the big problem , the idiot in the yellow santa suit was not letting anyone out of the gravel car park, because fans were walking on the pavement on the other side of the road,
T hen when he did let us out there were more fans further down the pavement walking in the road because they didnt want to walk round the fence, so keeping us in car park defeated the object,
What they need to do is 10 mins after kick off, send all car park idiots home, dont need them any more, im sure we can get out of the car park our self and down to the traffic lites without killing sumone.

| I drove to most games last season and didn't really have any mither getting to and from the ground, think the only trouble i had was getting towards the stadium for the Leeds game. Liverpool road was chocka, the stadium can't really be blamed for that. This season i've been having a drink at home games so been getting a taxi into Peel Green and walking to the ground. If i do drive now i park at Eccles RL and walk to the ground.

That's all well and good for fans who know the area or stadium routes but for someone who might be new to the game might want to park at the stadium it's quite off putting the stadium car park even I decided not to park on their this year.

| If the stadium carpark is the deciding factor in new fans coming to a game or not, they can't be that interested anyway.

Well new fans generally aren't interested to start with are they? Its all about the overall experience so if someone goes to a game and gets totally outraged stuck in traffic for one half hours there going to think twice about driving again, an as their new and not that bothered to start with there not going to go out of their way and find an alternative way of getting to the game.

| I would second that and ask are we keeping the away support from coming as well?
Teams are not taking many people to this new stadium.
The willows always seemed well populated even if we were sometimes surrounded by more away fans than home supporters.

photo from tonights United Spurs U21's football game.
Free entry , too many turned up for the East stand so they allowed fans in to the West stand aswell , 2,700 I estimated .
people were allowed to turn up and pay to park . there was far more cars on the main Car Park & gravel parking by the training pitches than you would get on a Salford Game.
after the game they were holding up cars in the tarmac parking but cars on the gravel parking were leaving straight after the whistle. Funnily enough no one was fussed about the parking arrangements
United won 1 -0 , and on a lighter note there was a floodlight failure just before half time as the national grid plunged Peel Green into darkness

| As I've said, this 40-90 min wait on the carpark business is an absolute exaggeration/rumour made up by people who have some sort of problem with the new stadium. Wether that's because they're crap at navigating carparks or because they're scared of change from the willows I don't know but it has to stop because it's just fueling the rumour.

| One big problem was actually getting on to the car parks at the stadium,Advance booking of car park space now seems to have been done away .you can now pay on the day for Salford games.
