| Quote TheButcher="TheButcher"I thought you were banned off here, Mr Flat Earth?
I'm hardly ever on here these days. Just so happens that when I do pop on for a gander who should turn up in literally the first post I read, but our resident nut job, on an alias, even though you were banned for being, well, you. You don't even make it difficult.
I'm sure you'll be bringing in some imaginary friends to back your ravings up. After all, imaginary friends are a thing with you. Why don't you have a good pray that I'll be cast down with some horrible affliction? See if that works.
I'm off to lie down and have someone tickle my feet while I hold a metal rod. It does wonders for relaxation.'"
Well, that was a huge contribution to the topic again Nurse Bubba's out of bed again.

Everything was rosy in the land of the Willows milk and honey.'"
I get your point Butcher, The Willows was [ia $H!TH0L€[/i & before anyone starts getting on their high horse, Hilton Park was a $H!TH0L€ too, as was Knowsley Road.
All 3 of those stadiums were falling down & grim, walls collapsed at Knowsley Road with regularity & any stadiums with wild trees & shrubs growing inside them are only fit for demolition.
P!$$!N6 against a wall outside (but within the ground) might have been derigeur in the 50's but not acceptable now.
While all of those grounds shared some good times, some hard & provided the all important & oft elusive atmosphere, they were long past saving & shared a common denominator, they were all derelict.
I have said this umpteen times with Salford fans, a ground share with Swinton [iis the only way forward[/i, it isn't demeaning, it doesn't mean your Club has failed, it does though make common sense to share the costs of your business & should bring back stability & equally as important, help rebuild your fan base while also having your admittedly shared home in a Salford town.
I see no reason why this would not suit Swinton but I do see big issues with your lease at the AJ, not to mention the fight MK had with Salford City Council.
If legally Salford RL can walk away from the AJ then they should make it happen, MK needs to be keeping sweet with Swinton to ensure that there is at least a chance of a joint venture.
On the issue of soulless stadiums, they are what you eventually make them, the first couple of years at the LSV were not great yet eventually the fans returned & started to help in their little way to make it a fortress & a loud & threatening place to visit for opposition teams *threatening maybe not the best description bit you get my drift, hopefully*.
There is always hope.

Steve with due respect Warrington, Saints, Leigh built their grounds within or near town centres. Leigh ground is a nice walk too with plenty of ale houses along the way. Now the one thing you're failing to understand Ste is the AJ Bellend is outside of Salford. So your situation differs to ours.
What Salford should of done, was to copy Widnes's lead and redevelop one stand at a time. But Arthu Daley had personal alternative bent schemes to adhere too.

Indeed.
I loved the Willows and spent many great times there, but we have to accept that it's gone and look forward rather than continually walking backwards while facing the future. There's still a lot of Salford supporters, and I use the term loosely, who wear rose tinted glasses. The answer isn't to harp on about the past, we're struggling to even have a future at the moment and fans should be focused on that. The Club has been left on its backside through the RFL insisting on a new ground for SL survival while allowing Yorkshire clubs with similar or worse grounds, off the hook. We had a decent Chairman in Wilky but he kinda made a deal with the Devil when selling us out for an expensive lease at a ground away from the core support. We've lurched from one disaster to another for donkeys years, well before we moved from the Willows. Those that think we'd be better off at a condemned hundred year old plus ground are deluded. Salford's problems lie deeper than where we play.

People or supporters aren't deluded because they disagree with you. I speak to a lot of ex-players who visit me often, and they have the same outlook as me, in fact, that's where my opinion is formed or originates from. These ex-players have obviously a more closer interaction with the Club than most supporters could ever have, and the stories I've heard would bend your spine. So Bubba just to again remind you. I don't have pretend friends like you, I've plenty of mates who've played for Salford who've expressed to me their views, I suppose they're deluded eh
Oh and Salford's problems are hugely due to where they play. No crowd No income stream No Salford.

Bolton Wanderers play at stadium on a retail park in Horwich, miles from central Bolton, their fans seem to be able to make their way there, one bus an hour in each direction (onto the retail park) more if you want or can walk from the main road.
I know the AJ is in a bad place geographically from Pendleton Precinct but for some it seems an easy & ready made excuse.

Steve, you're talking Football mate. Horwich is in the Bolton conurbation. The name Wanderers, is in their DNA.
Salford folk are a different kettle of fish, we didn't even get a say in the move, the rug was pulled from under our feet.Bolton had Premier League attraction so they had to leave Burnden Park for the fruits of the premier league and SKY monies. So you can't compare BW to Salford
You steve and Butcher wouldn't or couldn't understand this because you ain't from "proper Salford'' nevermind Salford outskirts like Eccles Irlam, Walkden, and, little hulton. The move was disastrous and I've been saying it for years and now its crumbling right in front of your eyes, you still cannot see the move to the AJbellend .as the common denominator of the demise.

| Like everyone else id love to be in a ground in a better location which is our own, but don't pretend this is out only problem. Look at attendances 2011, other than a few major exceptions at the start and obviously the end, average was around 3.5/4k. Issues stem much deeper than ground location

| As one of the fans from Cadishead the club as let us down
When we had a bus to the ground it was a total joke
More was put in to getting Warrington fans to the ground then Salford fans
It was so badly run no bus turned up, and when the bus driver went to another set of pick up no turned up.
(left hand told one set of pick up, the right hand -driver was given another)
So why should we go all the way to Swinton or any part of Salford to see our team.
When the problem is not where we play but the club and players.
In the last few years we sign players who do care about the club.
We have chairman who signed up players but he did not know what he was doing.
The only person (in is words who can control I’m) as gone to Hull KR.
So where does it leave us?
The club website this says one of our players is playing his last game on Sunday if that’s the facts we are down
