| Whilst Mario might be trying to cause trouble, we have to admit he has a very valid point. And for the second season in a row we haven’t broke 2k against Huddersfield. Sadly I don’t see attendances improving anytime soon. The move from the Willows has killed us. When MK took over we had another chance, years on we are still in the same position as we were then and to many broken promises have made fans vote on their feet. When we re-branded a massive mistake was made in NOT including the name SALFORD in the badge. We now play in a crap stadium, paying top bucks. We no longer have an identity. John Wilkinson has a lot to answer for, as ultimately he was down to the move. If you look at our attendances in the past two seasons at the willows compare to the past two years at Barton we are down massively. We have lost around 1.5k – 2k fans. (I am only going off Wiki)
Att: 1,972 - 2015
Att: 1,958 - 2016
Att: 3,458 – 2011
Att: 4,041 – 2010
We would still have a chance of top 8 if we had our points back, but the fact is we don’t and again it is another season fighting at the bottom. Whoevers fault that is doesn’t matter, fans are just sick of it.
I noticed a post from Salford the other week saying they are going to be making a ‘big promotional drive’ – I wonder what this will entail or will it just be the usual reduced tickets that nobody knows about? The sad reality is even if we had a top 4 side, I struggle to see us break 4k home fans on a regular basis – at the willows with a top 4 side, I could have seen us achieving that.
I remember MK at a meeting telling a Salford fan ‘not to question’ his marketing ability – as of yet I haven’t seen any constructive marketing from him. After not missing game for many years, for the first time ever I found Friday a real struggle.

| Quote: Early Bath "You have conveniently ignored the fact that if we has stayed at The Willows the club would have had to find £300k++ to put the ground in a position to pass all Safety tests/quote]
This is not strictly true Early Bath, granted the Willows needed more work carrying out, however so did Wakefield & Castleford grounds & 10 years on they still sit in super league! Salford were quite clearly given an ultimatum, move to a new purpose built stadium or risk not being considered for the franchise in Super league. Remember the A - B & C points system they adopted. Well we all know what happened to us, Salford we were made bankrupted moving to the new stadium & in the process we also lost half of our existing support from around the willows.
Clearly John Wilkinson & his team were out of their depth, however in my opinion he did have Salfords interest at heart but again he & his board badly misjudged the Salford fans from around the Weaste who used to enjoy a pint before walking to the ground, we have never replaced & are unlikely to replace while the RFL & MK fight a very public battle.
Those loyal fans who have watched for many years are being tested & I for one am sitting on the edge of giving up, for 3 years now we have been relentlessly pursued by the RFL having 2 points taken from us 2 season ago from the Castleford game, punishing Salford disproportionately for indiscipline last season & so far this season 6 points taken away for a break in the cap relating to 2014
Now you don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand the affect this actually as on the team performances being continually penalized, this also as the same affect on the remaining supporters actually still wanting to watch.
I believe both the RFL & MK need to look at what they have done & are doing to Salford Rugby club, to the RFL you clearly put us where we are today & because of your disputes with MK you are killing our club slowly. MK you need to look at the long term damage being done to the club.

There was no choice but to leave & to put the blame down to Wilky isnt on but its convenient isnt it?.'"
Great post, @MrScholes. The move from The Willows could/should have been avoided. John Wilkinson is the biggest Arthur Daley ever to walk the streets of Salford. So who else was to blame for the Willows fiasco @Early Bath? Rebel The Devil.

Att
Attendances will not improve until we get a consistently winning team season after season. To many false dawns
