It won't change until we have some sort of success at the new ground. When that happens it start to feel more like OUR home rather than just a ground we play at.

Wonder if that that was said when they moved from the New Barnes ground to the 'new stadium in 1901 '

To be fair, change does always produce negative vibes but I've not come across as long and deepfelt dislike when I have glanced through the papers of the period; I have to add the caveat that my reading was decades ago and very selective.

He's probably right but that was inevitable given the club couldn't afford to either redevelop The Willows or build a new stadium of their own.

The problem with the new stadium is the layout (it shouldn't have been seating both sides and standing both ends, it should've been like at Wire), the lack of anything to make it look and feel like Salford's ground (but that comes down to Salford's agreements with the management company) and of course the poor access and parking issues.

But also Salford are going to have to do significantly more to get people in to the games. Spend more on marketing, community engagement and youth and junior rugby and worry less about trying to spend more on the salary cap.
