To deem McDermott ''a Twerp'' for having a horrendous 2016 after the unprecedented season Leeds had last year is utterly foolish. It took Fergie numerous times to rebuild and transcend Championship winning squads throughout his illustrious reign. I'd have McDermott as coach in a heartbeat, not that it will ever happen.

I found that statement of his quite pointless. 'We haven't been able to do what we want in training' just screams to me that he isn't trying hard enough. Just go somewhere where there isn't any floods. Simple really.

I feel that GH will bill bringing down the sack-hammer pretty soon if McD doesn't get a grip. Good players don't become bad ones overnight. It looks from outside as though he has lost the dressing room/plot.

Flat Stanley. I didn't call him a twerp for having a horrendous 2016 as you allege. It is for blaming the floods for the latest defeat and for his outburst last year when we lost at Leeds with a heavily depleted team due to injuries and suspensions. As far as I can tell, he hasn't had the grace to acknowledge the massive improvement in the Reds performance compared to last year. If he hadn't had his outburst last year, there would have been no need to do so. With his outburst last year, it would have been the decent thing to do.

Ever considered that in Brian McDermots world we haven't improved, just his side have declined beyond comprehension from last year!

Sadly I try to avoid Messrs Wane and Dermott in their post-matches' interviews and comments: they rarely explain the game but give out excuses or challenging opinions. This is a pity as both clubs have produced excellent rugby and I would like to get an understanding of what made them do what they did.
Interesting, if you wander over different forums (fori?) on different sites as I have. There's a link between some of their fans' criticisms. Some Wiganers bemoan the dependance on home-produced players over buying in Aussies. Some Loiners are screaming for a play-maker and suggesting from overseas. Compare this to the several smug trolls who bemoaned our club's "mercenaries" and pointed to their success as they develop their own players, so do not need to panic buy. Mmm?
