Quote: FLAT STANLEY "A fantastic win. Gaz O'Brien take a bow son. With this injury to Robert Lui only recently i've be advocating to move O'Brien to Stand off and bring in Evalds into fullback, but i'm not so sure now. With Gaz's delightful dazzling displays at No1 why change it, why risk hindering a players superb displays when we can juggle things round elsewhere. I'm very disappointed with Logan's discipline and attitude at the moment however me thinks Tommy Lee would be a wise move playing at No6 like what happened at Castleford yesterday. I'd then bring in young Wilkinson to the bench and to share game time with Logan. Preferably i'd want three forwards on the bench however something has to be sacrificed for Lui's injury. So the question to Walter and Mr Sheens is "Do we give Niall a run at No1, Revert O'Brien to No6 or do we draft Tommy Lee to No6 and give shared game time to Logan and Wilkinson at hooker only if the lad is obviously ready for the challenge. I'm sat on the fence with this decision as i wouldn't want to hinder O'Briens form and i also want to see Naill given a run out to challenge for his No1 jersey. The reason i'd prefer Tommy Lee at No6 is that our attack would remain a three pivot attack which has been fruitful for us, whereas with O'Brien at No6 that attack gets reduced to Two pivots hence my late change in opinion. Nice headaches for a change if there's any improvement to be gained in Evald's game its asserting an improvement in his third pivot role which i've no doubt he can muster.'"
It's a nice headache to have for us for a change, and to be honest, I wouldn't be disappointed with any of the scenarios so far offered. GOB to halves with Evalds at FB, Tommy Lee at HB with GOB retaining FB. Lee was very good against Cas and is very consistent so may possibly get the nod for next week. Tomkins does need to get a grip of his discipline, and I think if we had a stronger line-up in the hooking role he probably wouldn't be getting close to the minutes he has been doing. C'est la vie I suppose.
I can see the trip to HKR being tricky as they're desperate for points, and a wounded animal can still be dangerous. This is the type of game we would definitely lose after a good performance last year. Hopefully our new squad can remain consistent and apply a bit of ruthlessness next week by putting them to the sword.
