A few observations from last night:
I watched the game from the 'main stand'. When amongst the travelling supporters it is often hard to gauge how loud the support is. Safe to say, we won that contest hands down last night
. Very little noise from the Wigan fans (none without the accompaniment of 'that' drum).
To come away disappointed at a narrow loss shows how far we are progressing. Thought for long periods we more than matched them. It's a shame we couldn't finish off our first half breaks like they did. We have our best half backs for over a decade, and they will only get better.
An elderly Wigan fan turned around at full time and told my young boys not to feel despondent - that is the best Salford side he has seen there for many years (so they aren't all one-eyed obnoxious so and so's).
The ref was awful. Simply awful. But for both teams. The knock on he missed at the end is a prime example, but I thought he could have done Gorge Griffin for not paying the ball correctly before Murdoch-Masila's try. Let's not focus on the ref - we need to accept it and move on.
If we play every week like we have for the last 3 I will be making more away trips as finally (hopefully) we have a TEAM worth watching.
