| Just recently Bolton FA grass roots football decided to move all junior football to summer starting in 2017, I believe Salford FA are considering following suit.

I believe I am correct in stating that grass roots junior rugby league runs from March through to April?
What are people’s thoughts on the potential clash and what harm do you think it will have on junior grass roots rugby league participation?

| Junior rugby league runs from March to October generally
The clash already exists Football gets played all year once the league fixtures are done and dusted there are tournaments played in the off season
As it looks now Bolton & Bury League are going to be playing fixtures on a Saturday rather than a Sunday which will enable my lad to continue to play both sports

| as u45d as pointed out, when the football season finishes you tend to see a lot of festivals taking place all through the summer anyway so it should not have too much impact. What I have found as a coach of a younger team it is when the football games are moved to Sunday's for whatever reason that has the big impact anytime of the year.
I know one club at an older level in Swinton have a coach that will only play games on a Sunday even though they play in the Salford leagues which are Saturday games and this impacts on a couple of lads who have to alternate playing rugby and football just to cater to his choice.
If they do tend to stick to the traditional Saturday mornings for football and Sunday's for rugby, it shouldn't have a big impact at all as it didn't for the many years when both played winter.

| The Warrington junior league go to Sundays at u12s I think and thats where the impact will be if there is to be one. The Warrington League covers Cadishead & Irlam over to Widnes and up to Wigan
Bolton & Bury League going to Saturdays was to avoid the clash with cricket in their catchment area.

| I guess rugby league will have to adapt as there are bound to be clashes with football matches and football training over the season. I wonder how the cricket clubs will cope with it as a lot of them do tend to ground share with football?
