If the club has serious ambitions in the Cup (and for me in the short term this remains the best route towards real progression) then maybe taking any easy beat early round opposition on the road wouldn't hurt but not a Quarter or Semi against a big name SL team.
You'd run the risk of an undoubted drop in the number of bums on seats and the obvious revenue that generates.
And for me more importantly you run the risk of losing home ground advantage in a one off cup game.[/q
