Salford is a Broadway musical
You might not believe me but Salford IS a Broadway musical
The set is low budget
The cast didn't go to RADA
The audience don't clap politely like sea lions begging for fish
They're Rocky Horror rowdy
And the worst reviews come from those who haven't even seen the show.: |
|
| I am led to believe the announcement was delayed as there's a couple nearly but not quite over the line.
So with that in mind other info as follows, Sheens staying is the big one.
At the risk of cynicism and vitriolic responses my 'decent source' also tells me new signings are Lui, Murdoch-Masila (sic), Corey Parker, Flanagan, O'Brien, Monaghan and Carney or Massey obviously not both.

| Quote: Michigan red "Good God sign Parker and I'd be ecstatic, brilliant rugby player, food kicker and a killer off load. He'd also go straight to captain for me.
If he is one then you see straight away the Sheens effect on the signings, doubt he would have come without him pulling the strings.'"
Yes it would be good to get Parker, but not a 34 year old.And why if we get Parker should he be captain.Give it Evades and we have a captain for 10 years.

| Why is Parker not signing Mario, you feeling a tad miffed because he wasn't one of the top 101 targets you mentioned in the MEN??
And for what it's worth I personally think Parker is just the signing the club need real professional, what Sheens was basically referring the type of player the club needs on / off the field.
At 33 yes not ideal but could quite easily do a couple if years at SL level and a perfect kicking game.

| Parker for me would be a good signing even at 33/34 yrs old, one season wud be good we option for second.
The Superleague is not as intense as the NRL and i think he would do well for us.
But to be honest i dont think it would happen.Rather see Robbie Farrah who has a few more seasons left in him.
As for Captain, young Nail would be great as RED EYES says , if we can keep hold of him , a capt for a long time.

| Are people really suggesting Nial for captain! Good grief. One of his areas for improvement would for him to be mote vocal and dominant in directing the defence. This maybe be down age and maturity and will come with time so it's not a major issue. He also seems to be an all round nice guy, not sure I'd want that in a captain, I'd want someone who plays hard and rightly or wrongly, always in the refs ear, beleive it or not they do influence the ref. Looks at the clubs renowned for it, Saint, Wilkin, Wigan, Sean O, Mickey Mac, Joel T, no doubt the returning Sam T will have words with the chaps in middle. Leeds, Sinfield, Maguire, Peacock. I could name more players, but those clubs tend to get more of the 50/50 calls, maybe a coincidence?
As for Nial, just let the kid flourish and play rugby and in few years maybe he could be a good candidate for captain.

Evalds for captain is laughable.
