Just seen a very strange post from Rangi with a pic of himself. Don't know how to do links but it seems to be a cry for help.

All the words we're hearing are that he is far from enjoying life at Salford, whether this be the under performing team, the pressure placed on by the boss man or whatever. Supposedly wants to come back to Cas.

You're right though, his post was very worrying, I think it needs remembering for all his quality etc, he's just a man. The game cannot afford to neglect him and allow him to continue to struggle.

It looked like a cry for help and when I read it I interpreted it as though he is not getting help from people who should be helping him. I'm not sure if that means the club, the RFL, family or someone else? Hopefully someone from State of Mind can jump on this and confirm he is okay.

I've never been an admirer of his attitude on the pitch but I wouldn't wish mental troubles on anybody.

Rangi has spoken to people from Warrington, Saints, Wigan, Catalan and Leigh with regards to a move. I doubt he would want to move back to Cas, as don't forget he wasn't exactly happy during his time there either. Wherever Rangi goes he will struggle, that is just the type of character that he is. His current issues aren't all RL related either, he has issues with his personal life which are contributing to his current problems.

Hopefully the club fulfil their duty of care and help him with whatever he needs.

I'm told on more than one occasion his representatives have contacted Cas recently to explore the possibility of a return. Obviously the wages he's been paid there would never be matched by ourselves.

His wages wont the problem, as he probably realises now that he has just one decent contract left in him and will favour happiness over money, but his transfer fee will be. He's on a very lucrative deal at Salford, who don't forget paid a substantial fee to Cas for his services. During that time you can only say he has improved as a player, certainly physically he has never been in as good a shape as he currently is. Therefore who is going to stump up the £150-200k fee?

He has been as good as they're ear he won Man of Steel or the year after? I think not.
