Hmmm. Well twitter, Facebook and here will reach people who subscribe to those, who undoubtedly are already fans? Not sure which radio it's been on? I've not seen a poster in Walkden anywhere? I don't think there has been in any way enough advertising by the club. We shall see, I hope I'm wrong and I'm locked out at 2.30.

I'm not particularly interested in what northmanchesterdevil has or hasn't done to promote the game. I am however very interested in what the club has done and the likelihood of any fans who get in for free returning with their twenty pound notes for the HKR game.

That quote sums up everything that is wrong with SRD and sadly everything that is wrong with a certain section of our support. You wouldn't be a member of forever reds would you? Or behind one of many, "look I'm a better fan than anyone else" pages on twitter, blowing smoke up Marwan and Martin's on twitter.

As a fan, I pay my season ticket, buy match day programmes, buy club merchandise for my children. That's where it ends. If you want me to start walking the streets, printing and putting up posters, then your having a laugh, suppose that makes you a better supporter than me?

Well for a start I have heard it on the local radio stations,on the TV and I have read it in the press on many occasions over the last few weeks,since the free entry offer was announced. and I have seen a flier in the doctors surgery,in a church and several in the Irlam and Cadishead Leisure centre.

There have been several hundred fliers posted around Walkden and Little Hulton, I was even offered one myself yesterday by a resident who had got one posted through her letterbox,on Windmill Road.

I know at least eight newcomers who will be coming along to the match due to a combination of the the above actions of a couple of people and the club who appear to have been proactive in the schools and clubs etc.

I wont be locked out at 2.30 as I will have been there watching the Under 19s

Fair enough. I've seen nowt. I'll be in the pub til as late as possible because I hate the stadium too, but that's another issue....

crowd given as 5,072?? how many of those would be ST holders/regulars and how many would you think were taking up the free entrance?

Reckon the crowd would've been around 2500 if we charged full price, so it pretty much doubled the expected crowd.

I'm sure this will still be mocked however I would consider it a moderate success.

Considered a success by me too. Don’t forget this is a Salford team that before yesterday had won just 1 in 11 games.

For me, this could only be considered a success if Contact details were taken from the people attending yesterday. Would enable follow up, targeted marketing, etc.

However, I took 2 newbies with me and they weren't approached / asked for details. Pretty sure I'd heard that this would be done. How can the investment made by the owner of free entry be deemed a success if no follow up is made?

After the last reduced price entry match (Warrington), I sent a Twitter about this as my brother bought 2 tickets and was not asked for his contact details. Martin vickers told me I was wrong, and that everyone had info taken. My brother must, therefore, have lied to me, even when I specifically asked him again. I passed my brothers contact details to Martin after this, at his request. If you're a gambler, take a bet on whether or not my brother received ANY contact from the club!

I really do worry about the future when things like this happen (or don't happen)
