| All teams are coached to put one in round the legs. The incident as usual is being blown out of all proportion. The damage was down because at the same time Chase came in Sau was in the process of pushing him in the other direction. I doubt whether Chase knew that Sau was going to push backwards. If you watch them practice this in the warm they always pull the player forward. I see it as a risky technique gone wrong and hence worth a ban or 3 to 4 but I don't go along with the melt down response of some.

| It appeared to me that both feet were on the floor when the initial contact was made by Chase. The unfortunate damage seemed to be caused by Chase and S'au forcefully pushing Ferres in opposite directions - S'au high and Chase low. The question is how does one player know what the other is going to do? - Push or pull? You could question why Chase came in later but aren't players coached to tackle players so they face their own line to slow down the ptb? I'm more surprised S'au pushed him in the direction he did because that would have allowed a quicker ptb.

| RFL had chase on 3 charges for the same offence over the weekend, 2 have been dropped. He will get at least 6, but would like to see 12 - it has no place in our game

its unusual because if you watch it chase moves round the tackle to find the standing leg

Ferres appeared to be standing on both legs when Chase made the initial contact. Chase did move around the other two defenders but he could argue he did so to take the leg low and unbalance Ferres. It's an extremely unfortunate incident and I wish the player a speedy recovery.

unfortunately chase has form for this sort of thuggery. it really is a par of his game he just doesnt need. the guy can tackle absolutely fine without these sorts of tactics. gotta be 8 games, and to be fair for these sorts of instances i feel he should be out for as long as ferres is out for. i know its impossible to judge, but thats my 2ps worth

| While Flower deserved a ban for what he did he didn't seriously injure Hohaiah. The ban was so long because it was at a high profile event. If Chase doesn't get a similar length ban (in terms of matches missed) for severely injuring an opponent and putting him out of the game for months then there is something seriously amiss with the disciplinary system.

Even as a Salford I can't really disagree with that, both offenses were deliberate.
